Unofficial FAQ

(RosOne) #1

I had some time and a domain I’m not using for anything special so I thought I’d make a little unofficial ET:QW FAQ.

I’ve checked all previews/interviews and listed some of the more important things. It’d be great if you guys could have a quick look at it and check it there are no errors. My english isn’t the greatest but I hope the grammar police won’t bust me.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Unoffical FAQ

It’s still pretty much a work in progress. Images of vehicles, classes or weapons will be added soon, at least those available.

:lookaround:

Nice i like it. Not sure if im correct, but can’t the engineers also sabotage enemy vehicles?

(RosOne) #3

Thanks. I don’t really know. I have started with the oldest bits of information and started writing. Whenever new information about something showed up I fixed it. Maybe I missed that somewhere, maybe someone even has a quote or link so I could fix it.

(ParanoiD) #4

Yep he is right, Engineers (at least humans) can sabotage enemy vehicles, not sure about strogg constructors.

(Loffy) #5

Nice FAQ.
Woa, proximity mines!

(RosOne) #6

Ok, thanks guys, I’m writing that down so I’ll look out for it while reading all previews/interviews again for recheck

does anyone know if voip works position related, meaning you hear a teammate only when you are close to him? or an enemy hears you if he’s close to you while you talk?

ps: thanks for not mentioning … the “other” game in your faq

(Grey Wolf=GCHQ=) #8

That would be quite cool, but I’m thinking humans would use radio transmissions, so maybe a a combination of proximity with the enemy, and your squad hearing you where ever you are.

(DarkangelUK) #9

Going on a guess, ill say it’s like proximity voice. Teammates are in constant radio contact and you can hear enemies close to you within a certain distance.

(ParanoiD) #10

Hmm, maybe the GDF could get some stroggs on the radar from the european galileo project :o

(RosOne) #11

Aww, how sweet, the guys from planetquakewars.net translated the FAQ into german. Well, but I guess I’ll have to translate it by myself anyway so I can keep all translations updated.

Anyway, for those more comfortable with german here ya go http://www.planetquakewars.net/content.php?content.33

thanks for posting our Link. we just finished the work on the translation of your FAQ.

now the FAQ is also available in german language on our Page!

i hope it is okay that we did a translation!

(RosOne) #13

Of course it’s ok

Funny… thinking about it, on the Q1-Q2 days, it was pretty common for games to have online FAQs with all known information prior to release. It’s been a long while since I’ve seen a FAQ for a game. Good work.

(ParanoiD) #15

Maybe that already shows how superior this game will be compared to other games like BF2

(RosOne) #16

Well, the DOOM FAQ had/has 359 pages. Still got it. Those were different times I guess, where the developer made gameplay decisions not the publisher or their marketing department. I guess it was easier back then to get some info, now you have to go to the big sites or magazines. But what do I know, I’m just playing those games.

On the other hand, if let’s say some preview or some news say there will be this and that in a game people might feel betrayed if it doesn’t make it to the retail version. Anyway… keep the info coming SD, we can’t wait.

nice, so there will be real voip? nice ;D can finally shout at people who aren’t playing as a team :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

(Sauron|EFG) #18

Q: When will the demo be released?

“There will be a demo before the games release…”

Q: Will PunkBuster be integrated in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars?

“…and PunkBuster support is planned.”
