Undiffusable mines

While playing Goldrush as an axis engineer.

We still owned the tank but some allied engie was setting up mines outside of the respawn that we would spawn at had they ever gotten around to stealing the tank. I went to diffuse these and when I stepped on them, I got the little icon that shows that I can diffuse but it never showed a little progress bar. I tried it a few times and each time I couldn’t diffuse it and got splattered.

I later found another enemy mine placed near our respawn (the respawn near the tank) and I diffused it without problems.

I will try testing this bug out a bit later to see if it’s that location or whatever.

I had this happen to me one time on Oasis in the first tunnel as axis…

An allied engy has planted some defensive mines for water pump and i was walking slowly to step on and diffuse them. I stepped on 2 at once then stopped to disarm them and unfortunately could not. No progress bar came up so I had to just /kill myself :confused:

I thought it might have been a possible bug if you step on 2 at once because I’ve never had any other problems disarming. I reayy have no idea unfortunately :disgust:

That happed to me several times too (even back at the test version of ET). Undefusable mines - aaargh. You can try to jump off - I always come away with about 20 - 40 health points left (and even more when I have a flak jacket).

On the subject of mine bugs, in Oasis we had a griefer who planted mines in remote corners of the map. By the time the wall was blown, we had no mines to defend the guns and the rest of the teammates were doing nothing to defend them. I tried to find the mines by going CovOps and using the command map but I couldn’t find any of them at all. They were also away from tunnels so it’s not like they were planted underground. According to the map I ran right over them several times. I suspect this kind of thing has occurred more than once but I’ve only noticed it when somebody tries to cheat and use up the team’s mines.

I have had a problem with diffusing mines as well. I step on a mine, and it arms, with some smoke fizzing out, so I pull out my pliers, and start defusing. However, after the bar completes, it starts over again from the beginning. I sat there for a few minutes repeatedly disarming the mine, only to have it start again from the beginning. I was a level 3 engineer at the time.

lol actually according to Bani, until you get a demo of me doin’ it, it didn’t happen :bump:

like the panza that /killed on me in a fight yesterday and the lt that did it to it all didnt happen cos i got no demo, their excuse was spawn was 5 seconds away.
