Underpowered weapons

(Illegal_Amoeba) #1

Even though this is an “arcadey” game, most bullets (from guns) = not strong enough, especially when people run like the wind, take cover, and then launch a panzer rocket straight at you when you have shot him about 5 times in the back.
:banghead: :bash:

anyone agree?

Instead of 5 shots to the back try 3 to the head.

The weapons aren’t underpowered, you can easily take out 3-4 people with one magazine.

Maybe instead of blaming the guns you should practice more ,your description of what you experience sounds a clear case of your inexperience.

  1. Locate circle with + shape
  2. Point at enemy’s head
  3. Click 3 times
  4. Profit!

the SMG’s are a little bit underpowered in comparison to the Heavy Weapons.
the panzer “warm-up” time is exactly the same in ET as in RtCW. But the SMG firing rate has been lowered.

In RtCW, I could usually take down a suicide panzer guy 90% of the time, but in ET, I can only do it half the time. Add in the fact that you can launch two panzers in less than 10 seconds once you get to level 1.

(sniser2) #6

How can you “add in the fact that you can launch two panzers in less than 10 seconds once you get to level 1” when you’re talking about kamikaze panzers, that doesn’t make sense.

Plus, I’d even say that is an argument for the current balance - when you hit them right and hard, you’re safe. When you miss too much, you go splat. Sounds fun to me! Where’s the fun in taking them down before they can fire, every single time by just firing in the general direction (okay that is a bit exaggerated)?

(Cyber-Knight) #7

sometimes when I approach a corner, and I KNOW there is a panzer there waiting for me, I usually jump into the corner so he sees me then quickly move backwards. Hopefully the panzer soldier would have committed to firing and miss his shot on me, then I could rush in and finish him off. But that doesn’t work too well in ET cuz by the time I reach his fleeing ass, he has another rocket ready for me.

(sniser2) #8

If you need 10 seconds to get back around the corner you might want to look into sprint/strafe jumping :stuck_out_tongue:

({PiQ} Apoch) #9

If you need to run around a corner where you KNOW a panzer is waiting, you need to learn how to use grenades.

(sniser2) #10

I think he meant “when you turn the corner there’s a panzer waiting for you in line of sight” :stuck_out_tongue:

(WiGgLeRiCe) #11

Dont worry about the panzer , worry about the suicide bomber running towards you with a grenade in hand going click, click, click…

LOL

:bump:

As they should be. “omgwtf ur tank r bettar than my pistol NO FAIR!”

Maybe you don’t even know who I am or how I play like, so be quiet dude.
Maybe I’m just stating an opinion, and maybe it isn’t fun when a suicide panzer’er, flamer or detpacker, runs into a crowd of 5 people shooting him like mad, and the suicideer gets away with killing them all, or just escaping “virtual” death from them all.

(sniser2) #14

Why? How is that different from a field ops throwing a lucky airstrike? Because it’s so easy? Well, it should only be easy for the first time. If it isn’t you deserve it every single time

Plus, you have to consider that in certain situations ANY hitscan weapon is simply unmatched by flamer or PF… namely when the target is pretty wounded and a few shots put them down - IMMEDIATELY. A panzer projectile has to travel, and a flamer doesn’t even have the range… that you’re complaining about the latter really simply shows you have to learn a lot. Why instead of going “whee! cool, even more to ET!” decide to be pissed is something only you know.

NO

({PiQ} Apoch) #16

If the panzer is close enough to suicide, a grenade will do the job. Otherwise, take an alternate route, get a panzer/rifle nade of your own, or have a teammate clear the panzer (either with their own heavy weapon, or by taking the hit for you). I don’t personally think any ET regular has problems being repeatedly killed by a panzer in a predictable location.

Ya, but this field ops isn’t going to be right in front of you like a kamakazi’er.

Well obviously the flamethrower doesn’t have the range, its just when they get right in front of you and 4 of your nearby buddies, and you’re all blasting away at them, it shouldn’t take 10 bullets to take him down even though flamers are meant for close range combat. And panzer’ers are similar except that the panzerfaust can kill from really long distances as well, and does not have a “constant” fire rate.

You runs close together with five othere team mates. You cant take out a flamer and you cant kill a panzer that looks the opposite way…

Man, you are inexperienced. Plz. learn to shoot with the smg before you says anything. Im using them and I have to addmit that they are a little to good compared to other weapons.
