Unable to map multiple mouse buttons

(bearwolf999) #1

I have a Logitech MX300 mouse. It has the 2 main buttons, a scroller in the middle of them whice can also be pushed down. and finally a small little button directly underneath the 2 buttons & scroll.

I looked in the mouse properties and it’s website but I can not figure out how to use the scroll button push-down and the little button.

I’v tried binding these as mouse3, mouse4, mouse5, also tried mousebutton5 etc…none of them work. :???:

Maybe someone has the same mouse and knows what the lable is for binding those extra buttons. Any help is much apperciated.

The scroll wheel is MOUSE3 when clicked, but the side buttons may need mapping to keys.

Your mouse software should enable you to select which “normal” keys get pressed when you click the side buttons. I don’t have a MX300 but my mouse has 2 side buttons and I use my mouse software to map them to ALT and SPACE. I then bind functions in ET to ALT and SPACE and the nett effect is when I press the side buttons whatever commands I have bound to ALT and SPACE get executed.

I have a MX500 and MB4 & 5 won’t work in ET with the mouseware driver. So try uninstalling that and use the default windows driver or download the microsoft intellipoint driver (both of which I feel perform much better then the mouseware driver anyways). Or you can bind them to a key like Kendle said but then they won’t function anymore for whatever you use them in windows (like back/forward).

Ive got an mx500 and i got my side buttons to work perfectly.
I’m at work atm so don’t know what version of the logitech drivers i am using but all i did for example is bind “p” to say smg in my ingame config and then mapped the button “p” in my mouse drivers and it worked like a charm.
I couldnt get it to work by using mouse 3 or 4 etc,etc

With the default XP driver or intellipoint driver you can bind to mouse4 & mouse5

I use an mx700 and the logitech drivers, I have the extra buttons mapped to keystrokes and they all work in both ET and RtCW.
