Unable to connect to multiplayer

Hey guys,

ive seemed to hit a little bit of a problem… I just reformatted my computer tonight because I wanted to get all the junk off my computer. I installed Vista again on here, and then re install Quake Wars. Once i had that installed i pasted my profile into the sdnet folder in iD software to be able to play online again (has worked before) but when i try to log into multiplayer, i get this:

i know i have the right password, and i tryed logging in on my other computer which i havent used for a while, and i could connect to the multiplayer. But its impossible to on the main computer. Is there any way to fix this or am i screwed from playing QW again?

If your account works on one PC and not on the other, you may have done something wrong when trying to copy your profile.

As an alternative you could delete the current profile, select “create user” from within the game and then pick “use existing account”. No need for the cd-key, account name & password should be enough. That way the game will create the profile for you in the correct folder and after that you can start copying again.

Hope this helps.

Just figured it out, i didnt have the QW patch and seeing as the server for it was taken down i shouldnt have been able to get it… But i just copied all the files from my other computer and put it on this one and my game works now.

Didn’t want to revive a dead topic (but didn’t want to start a new one) but can I ask which files you copied over? I’m having the same problem atm.

copy all

I don’t have enough room on Dropbox to do that :frowning: (Need 5GB total, but I only have 2GB on Dropbox) Unless you know somewhere I could upload more than 2GB?

Nevermind, I manged it by putting my laptop on my local network and copying it all across!
