Umg these dying threads need to die.

My opinion wasn’t about posts though, it was about the subject all together. The whole collection of what happened. It was not contained to one thread alone.

Stating an opinion opposite to what the group thinks is not adding fuel to the fire. Especially when I did it in a way that was vague and not offensive.

@Osl112 I think you may be taking your self-appointed role of party pooper a little too seriously at this point. I’m pretty sure this thread would be well on its way to dying a natural death at this point if your posts weren’t continually inspiring new people to jump in and disagree with you.

DB is not dead at all but Nexon could pretty much drive the game into the ground. Nexon focus is questionable at the very least. Making new classes while core elements need to be fixed is very very bad. Cheating system should of being a number one priority like it is in many many games. Cheating is becoming more common when I first played I did not see many. Now of days I join a match first thing i ask myself who is going to cheat this time. Played 5 games last night out of 5 games 2 had hackers. One hacker left when I started to spectate his one hit pistol snipping kills. Other was toggle sniper hacker 100% headshots for 5 mins then completely sucked after we called him out on it. So Nexon will need to get there act together. If they don’t well guess it will be a good hacker against hacker game tell they get bored and leave. Hopefully it does not come to that.
I’m getting the feeling these people have not played a truly dead/dying game before… Battlefield Hardline on PC wont even let you play every mode/map in the game because of the low pop and limited server choice. THAT is dead/dying. When you cannot even experience the game fully anymore, cannot get a full match or it is getting to that point.

DirtyBomb has plenty of players for the small match sizes that it has and plenty of servers to choose from in the US and EU at least. I am freaking annoyed with seeing a ton of THE SKY IS FALLING threads when I just want to discuss actual features of the game and possible ways to improve them. Reddit is turning into the same mess. When you cannot escape people preaching doom and gloom then maybe it’s too much negativity, perhaps you’re doing more harm than good. Consider this.
I came from the game that just died. I used to play Battlefield Heroes over 5 years and since year 2010 I used to read forum threads like: “BFH is dead!!!12!”
BFH forums had also often these same “omg this game is dead” time periods, when everybody kept creating all the time new threads about the exactly same topic.
The negative side was that some people believed everything they saw in internet. They also gave up easily and left the game, without really investigating the situation and knowing what really is happening. People kept creating illuminati theories why with reason X the game was about to die. But hey, it was EA’s game and full of bugs that never got fixed.
Cheaters popped up like mushrooms in rain and they rarely got banned.
Many weapons in game were broken and with lack of updates the game was doomed to die.
I used to tolerate a lot crap in that game and at the end updates became quite rare.
Later developers send an announcement that the game will get closed and the game finally died at July 2015.

Comparing these two games and situations we are dealing right now, I can see A LOT potential in Dirty Bomb and in my eyes the game is quite alive.
Dirty Bomb is getting new updates quite often. Not every merc are released yet. We are still in open beta. New anti-cheat is coming sooner or later.
Let’s hope the new AC will make this game better place to stay.

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. If the community wants to believe a game is dying then they will make it so.

Maybe we can all agree that the person (the game) requires some medical attention and is therefore a patient.
We might not agree what is wrong with it, even though we all see some symptoms are clear and some are talking about emergency surgery BUT let’s not pull the plug and roll this patient to the morque just yet.

Shall we not? Please, pretty please?

Since it would probably make people quite sad to see someone whose so dear to many send to the cold cellar before doctors are given time for to rescue him/her.

For me those “DB is dead/dying” sounds like “let’s dump him/her to the river, nobody cares” without any ideas or even specific criticism towards the subject.

Don’t forget, Nexon’s not the developer. Splash Damage is. Quite the difference.

People seriously need to learn this >.>

Making threads titled Dirty Bomb is dying is overly dramatic and detracts from the more important issues at hand. Especially when people start posting pictures and statistics that they make up in an attempt to prove their point. It’s disinformation.
Isn’t that what you’ve just done with your thread but on a slightly different topic? How can you provide that sort of judgement where it’s a clear reflection of your own thread, sounds a little hypocritical to me. But far be it from me to say that’s wrong, I don’t think it needs to be repeated in multiple threads but I’m sure if there are enough people stating the same point there must be a valid conclusion to it and not just some melodramatic outcry.

(Ghosthree3) #50

I never said they should be shot down without giving reasons. Just that they should be told why they’re wrong quickly and firmly without anyone wasting time stepping side to side avoiding the fact that they’re wrong because they don’t want to hurt their feelings.

(Mescman) #51

Game is always new, at its all time user peak… or dying. -Internet people

Like WoW, it has been dying since 2010. Atleast five F’in years people have been posting “omg this game is dying” threads.

(PlayingUndead) #52

“there’s a difference between being told to shut up and being silenced.”

@Vexed, you’re great and those are definitely wise words. I’m not actually making this comment to make a point, but I really gotta say how funny it is that just a few posts down from this quote is literally a post that was “buried” because the community clicked the “dislike” (or, shut up) button on it so many times. I knowww I knoww, you can still read the post the dude made. Still kinda funny.

EDIT: Oh and Sniff can do whatever he wants. He owns enough cobalt to not just buy the forum domain, but the game itself and probably all of our net worth combined.

(moonlitAbility) #53

Dying: The process of slowly getting uglier and worse. This game will continue to get new updates every few weeks. the past few updates have been filled with bug and balance fixes. Its still a ways from dying, and the process of dying takes a lot of time. just ask yo grandpa

Some people are too hung up on the title of the thread and ignoring the message.

(-0wnage-) #56

Same can be said for what this thread is directed at.

Good job Rubenoo, you earned those dislikes like a pro.

(CCP115) #58

Almost the most annoying topic right now.

Trading loadout cards still takes the cake tho.
