Umg these dying threads need to die.

  1. Growth isn’t linear. Nothing grows in a straight line up. Shit happens. Population goes up and it goes down.
  2. Open beta traffic is volatile. People get tired of a new game after two months of playing the crap out of it. They will probably be back later.
  3. 13,000 people online at peak is amaze-balls. 7,000 people peak is still solid. Stop being blinded by big numbers.
  4. It used to be 300-500 people peak for 5 months and previous to that it was 1-300. Dirty bomb is doing fine.
  5. Each time one of these threads are made I want to sticky bomb you in real life. Yes. You.

I don’t know why I made a numbered list. It just kind of happened.

Umg, I agree.

(Yes) #3

dying
dʌɪɪŋ
adjective
Having less players than when it was first released.

That’s what it seems like people think dying means.

(srswizard) #4

That O was so big that the upper part of it got cut off.

Yeah, I’m not against discussing critical things like these, but this trend is getting a little old.
There’s no need to have 5 separate threads for the same topic.

(Jostabeere) #5

They take the top 1 most annoying thread atm. Yep. Stop it.

It’s an U.

!Word.

(Badger_Commander) #7

Yep, totally agree.

(Fap Fap Master) #8

Sniff, I’m afriad the sticky bomb disappearing glitch is still in the game, so some people might live.

(planetaryJalopy) #9

lol indeed.

(cornJester) #10

Don’t underestimate Sniff’s sticky fury. He’ll make you sticky all over.

It’s like what the devs are doing, just blowing loads all over their players/customers. Handing you shit telling you to spend money on crap that will stay crap. Fuggit, I might as well join these hackers and have fun like them.

(GregHouseMD) #12

THANK you. Here, have some likes.

Hell, let’s go back to the stress test population, when I could actually recognize the names of the people I played with!

. . . okay, let’s not do that, but come on. It’s getting so bad I almost start to believe it - until I log in and struggle to find space.

You should buy the company with your cobalt cards

yeah im not sure WTF happened yesterday, maybe some kiddy discovered the steam charts for the first time… but all these ‘whats the future, will it last more than 12 months, is DB dying?’ etc threads are awful and stupid. 7k at any given time is solid. CS:GO has mediocre population levels for like 2 yeara after launch until they released all the cosmetic crap.

as far as i can tell its simply insecure kiddies that need some sort of assurance that other people are doing what they are doing do that they can feel good in continuing to do it. I love this game, its more alive than ever to me

It’s just emotional overreaction towards probably the current problems like cheating in the game with the ratings of the overhyped Open beta which kind of work like “facts” that game is “dying”.

All the folks saying that the DB is dying, consider the fact that for many newbies like me of this newborn game, it’s more like in the labour right now.

Keep breathing and pushing!

(Amerika) #16

The DB negativity is pretty layered right now. There is a cheating group who is targeting DB pubs and ranked MM right now, the competitive scene is in flux and a lot of the key features that will help the game aren’t in the game yet. It seems as if things have hit critical mass for negativity recently and there isn’t much that can help it beyond time. Just keep on keep’n on.

Many other games have had similar issues and they came through it just fine.

Yeah some of the threads seem to more of an excuse to moan about something under the pretense of concern, be it hackers or what they fear is the general direction of the game.

(SteelMailbox) #18

I will keep playing the game until I won’t see 1 pub without one legit player.
DB is not dying IMO it is just the way games grow.

We need to wait for the results(if they will show and “kick us in the back”)

It’s pretty simple, I see facts & stats and make a personal judgement on them. ‘Personally’ the way I see it is, since every update from the Phantom, instead of an incline there’s been a gradual decline in players. It may just be the nature of it, there may just be a sudden increase or it may even stabilize at 6k players, that’s fine. After all, it’s still in Open Beta but that doesn’t change my personal opinion on the future of DB, I only say this as a dedicated player & fan of the game. If players didn’t voice their opinions, who would? So I don’t see the need of attacking the threads made, rather the problems themselves and as already mentioned… there’s quite a few, which i’m sure are being worked on as we speak.

Lol, don’t get me wrong, I would continue playing even if there were 500 players but I would rather play with more. I haven’t played that many games to make an expert analysis on the trend of Open Beta online FPS but this is just my opinion.
