LOL guys… I banned two people off our server from UBC last night, I found out they cheat…
Apparently it was for no reason whatsoever…
UBC = epic fail.

Well using your intuition to spot cheaters is not a bad thing.
Personally I wouldn’t kick or ban them though when there’s no proof. Or you will get something like this thread 
Players with “unhuman aim” are relatively rare in etqw but it’s easy to pick them out.
Thinking about the recently banned players -> no chance to even hit the shoot button.
Seems like some players on the pblist are still be able to play on ranked servers?

The Server needs to be streaimng through PBBans so the players on the Master Ban Index are not able to get on the servers. there are a number of server that arent streaimng which is a shame

yea I will look into that.
but I don’t really believe they cheat, its pure principle.
I don’t cheat, my computer can’t really handle 24 slots, on the odd occasion their server wasnt empty I could go on a nice small server and hand out some justice of my own.
But to be banned for nothing on one of the smallest servers in the game, and then for their players to think they can come to ours and have no problems, I think that is a bit cheeky!
There are very few players who I think cheat, but I keep that to myself and save any embarrassment, if they come to our server I will just play a few maps and leave to make it not so obvious.
I could care less who is better or worse, I could care less if people cheat, just don’t make it obvious on our server…
The way UBC go about it, we suspect/we jsut don’t like you killing us… and its a kick in the balls when you computer is not upto spec.

what have common demos with cheating acusation/verification ?

well since cheats are slightly visable (acording to you), i would imagine having a replay of the player playing would help to diagnose wether they are cheating or not, and id imagine it would be easy to spot to the trained eye. So i would have to say that demos have alot in commen with cheating, in that, if they are cheating, you can probably see it in the demo, if not however then i would have to question the accusation, as you would obviously then have no evidence…

@Basiley: if you can tell someone is cheating by how you see him ingame, you should also be able to see he’s cheating from his own demo.

under which name? because I can tell you now, I created one 2 nights ago and have used only that since ispellcorrectly. I only have two I play with now, 1 smurf only people I know personally know, and ispellcorrectly.

EDIT: at the moment, it is a sob story for me, I can only run small servers on my computer, but when I buy my new computer in the next couple of months you can go f*ck yourself

modern cheating tools have Zero visual appearance.
just moderately[which enough 4 many of “consumers” of such stuff]affect gaming process itself.
if you asking Serious, there is NO way to prove right/wrong positions of both [suspected]cheaters and/or acusators.
im just collecting statistics for some players for years.
and urko is one of those, who in “black” list.
i don’t need “impression”.
i don’t need explanations, excuses.
i don’t need any other “usually i play fair, but …”- bs.
all what i need is people, whose play online to have balls strong enough to play FAIR.
for me, its sounds reasonable.
for others … seems not.
so i don’t care. much. about you and about other things/guys.
whose abuse gameplay in one way or another.

Can i start off with pointing out that blatantly contradicting yourself will never help you win an argument.
Secondly as i said before:
if they are cheating, you can probably see it in the demo, if not however then i would have to question the accusation, as you would obviously then have no evidence…
In other words, if they have no appearance as you have changed your view to, then of course there is no way for you to spot it visually and we must relly on things such as punkbuster etc to spot them for us. If we nor the anti cheat program can spot any trace of a cheat, then we have no grounds to make any accusation on, regardless of if they are guilty or not. Hence making your argument that there are cheats that cannot be spotted irrellevant, because at that point cheat monitoring crosses over into bothering the public as people who arent cheating get randomly accussed if they play well, under the pretences that they could be cheating.
