A lot of you I guess are only going to see what you want and let it continue to upset you. There are definitely two divergent storylines here that are not aligning and creating two lines of argument. Seraph was banned because he didn’t follow our server policy. In continuing to argue about it on our forums after being told multiple times that the ban was going to stand, some people got annoyed with it and unloaded on him. All of this talk about him being booted for aimbotting, hacking, whatever all comes from those angry remarks and has allowed Seraph to try to play the part of a victim.

The long posts that McNite and I made that everyone likes to pick apart and argue against are not arguments but statements of how things are on our server. I have no idea where any story is changing or where there is any room to argue against or try to counter what we have said.

It is so simple. Everyone who runs a server is able to run it their way regarding, spawn kills, self kills, cheats, vehicle restrictions, team balance, etc… that not everyone is going to agree with but that is the way it is. If there is a shortage of servers that fit your style, there is nothing stopping you from starting one that works exactly how you want it to.

Blah Blah Blah… funny that you say he’s trying to play the victim when it is so obvious that he is a victim to your stupidity and lack of respect. All those things that you listed as reasons of why someone might be kicked/ban make enough sense, but then again your trying to support a decision that was backed by absolutely nothing but someone who thinks they can spot a hacker because they read about it somewhere… that just makes them appear completely dense. What is your server policy anyways, “Everyone welcome, but if your better than us GTFO”. In the end its your guy’s choice as to who gets to play on your server, but in the long run it gives you a crap rep, not that it really matters at this point in the game anyways. Stupid decisions like this one usually ruin a server or destroy gaming clans. You really shouldn’t try and defend kicks or bans like this, just be straightforward and say you feel like you can do whatever you like regardless of the situation.

This is by far the most amusing quote from this thread.

What you are basically saying here is that its better to make your teammates feel nice bout themselves and ‘oh how much teamplay we have’ and get obliterated, than it is to win?

By your logic Quake Wars is not a very teamplay oriented game. Because not being a teamplayer (as S did) can make your team win more (‘causing unbalance’) than you can win while being a nice teamplayer.

If that is the case, you choose a bad game to expect teamplay in.

If however, you believe that QW is a teamplay oriented game, then you should also acknowledge that being a rambo is teamplay favoring behaviour - if it makes your team win.

Why should a good player spend their precious 4-5 seconds on reviving a noob and most likely die (with the noob following), resulting in the team losing, if that very same time can be spend on killing 3 people and helping your team win?

I am not saying going rambo is the best thing for everybody. I am saying its the best thing for anybody good enough to be a most effective asset to the team while doing it. There is a very limited capacity to teamplay in a ffa server, because no matter how well synchronized and crossfire-y your going to be, others will not.
There is however, limitless capacity to being a rambo on an ffa server.

Repairing deployables is a very teamplay favoring action in your logic, even if those deployables are redundantly lying in the main base, 3 phases away from the objective. ITS THE WAY TO PLAY, isnt it?

hasn’t this gone on long enough? a bad decision will speak for itself and drag a name though the mud plenty if not rectified. their forums were some unfortunate reading which would justify any level headed person in avoiding their server. i do, however, encounter some highly respectable ubc ppl in game and will continue to overlook their nasty forums and admin calls for some ggs on other servers. let’s find some sort of silver lining, grow up, and move on.

I got banned for the exact same reason, I was too good, they said they had demos of me, but would not provide the proof.

I take great pride in my game I love to play and I am (just like others) sometimes a sore looser, but to be called a looser because my “grenade” skill seems to be off par with my rifle/lac skill is symbolical haha

they keep explaining that they are keeping their server ‘fun’, this means that take away the better players, and when asked call them cheats, it is on numerous threads on their forums, I have rather a UBC portfolio, and their forums have been copied pasted and saved, its one to put on a hall of losers…

so in actual fact, if you get banned from UBC server, don’t take offence, its a compliment, because they are jealous little f*cktards, who can’t play the game.

Half the people on my friends list are banned off their server, but wouldn’t it be funny if one of their clan members was one of us? hahahaha imagine that :wink:

Their server is no longer popular… its starts up now and again, and to give it a bit of credit, its stays up for a short while. but that’s because some people like a smaller server, which is why we opened one just like it, but without the suspicion of each and every decent player.

They won’t last much longer, the server might stay there, but soon enough (unless the game picked up again) they will get rid of the server because its pointlessly taking up space on a box and they are stupidly paying for it hahaha
