Pity is so much more effective than rancour. I nearly wrote “contumely” instead of “rancour”, but I’m still not entirely sure how to pronounce it.

I’m in the process of evolving a simple rule for using the internet. If at any point it begins to irk me, I go for a walk.

After just a few weeks, I’m three stone lighter and haven’t done a stroke of work in a fortnight. OK, bad example…
