Two simple questions for SD.

(morguen87) #21

Actually, yeah, SD does owe me and everyone else something. They owe us a real game. This should have been released as a $9.99 downloadable title.

(Oschino1907) #22

They should have taken a page out of DICES book and leading up to the release of DLC/Patch had 1-2 blog updates a week featuring details on each new map, new abilities, new attachments, new outfits and patch details. That way everyone would be checking in a few times a week to get the info on whats comming and what to expect from it, keeps everyone on their toes. But what SD did was no say much for a while and then in a single day released all the info but just the basics of the DLC and no details about any of it.

They def could have done it much better then they have. But having said that I see NO REASON for so much outrage about it all, maybe some ill feelings or dissapopintment but not this over the top non stop cylce of threads on the same subject.

The game isn’t broke. They never set anything in stone re DLC and there’s been no mention of a wonder patch with it. They seem to be doing that gradually.

Let us know what’s so game breaking and ask for an ETA on that, not something they haven’t confirmed

In tandem with the DLC, the teams at Splash Damage and Bethesda have been hard at work on the next major title update for Brink. The update is highlighted by online optimizations, AI enhancements, and weapon balance tweaks based on player feedback

i smell class action lawsuit

(morguen87) #26

I’m not going to bother with you, if you disagree please intelligently support your opinion and not to try to bait me.

(thesuzukimethod) #27

sorry, i was actually about to edit my post b/c i dont like coming across as douche-y. I’m just frustrated with what seems like (to me) excessive wringing of hands over the little picture, when my experience with the big picture is Brink is pretty f-ing fun/awesome

Guys, I think we just found Chris Hanson’s account on here. He’ll get to the bottom of this if no one else will.

Hate to tell you bud, but they’re not going to answer your questions especially when you’re being forceful.

(HandOfGod) #30

“The squeaky wheel gets the most grease”. If enough people demand it, what other choice do they have ? Answer to the people that pay your bills or further damage your rep and company future. Simple as that. People on here say “dont bite the hand that feeds.” They have it backwards. SD’s is not the hand that feeds. Mine are, as well as everyone else that bought the game. In essence we employ them because if we dont buy what they produce, they dont exist, as a company. However, I do exist as a gamer without them. They need to recognize that fact.

(Splash Damage AB) #31

When I first read this thread I did not completely agree with your what I thought was apparent whining, but this last comment just comes off as so classy and true, that I can’t believe I am saying this… I agree.

(reloaded7) #32

this game is shitty bro, just take the loss and move on

Go bitch at Bethesda, it’s pretty clear we’d have more information if SD were allowed to do so.

And as for other Devs knowing when it’s going to be ready…

Since you hit your mark, this means we are going to unlock Dead Air early. We are going to try and release it as early as possible but will release it on July 22nd the latest.

<snip>

Once those are solid and our new campaigns are ready, we will go into the certification process on the Xbox 360 and then release. What date is that? Hard to say but with your help it just got closer.

Valve Software

So maybe those other Devs already have it in the bag and are marketing patches and DLC once it’s through certification. ie They delay it unnecessarily to give the impression you’re getting it on time.

(thrill11) #36

I think every company knows that. However you (even though you’re the one saying it) don’t fully understand that. If you’re a gamer without em…then go be a gamer without em. Right now it seems like your a whiner with OR without em. Second, your not feeding them. you FED them. your not paying for anything else, so they don’t give a crap about you. Third, STOP ACTING LIKE A FBI AGENT. WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY BE HIDING FROM YOU. All your doing is trying to start a fxxxed up rumor that they’re “hiding” something. Fourth, the DLC won’t change much of anything. Stop expecting so much out of it. 2 maps won’t bring everyone running back nor will tweaked weapons. Its for the people that are STILL playing.

Good job only taking part of the quote.

The rest of the campaigns included in the DLC are also being worked on as we modify some locations and make some optimization improvements on them as well.

…It isn’t currently ready for release as we have been working on The Terminal and Finale maps and need to test them more internally.

That’s not them not knowing the release date, that’s VALVe actually fixing and tweaking their game to make sure it actually works like they said it will.

Also read the stupid blog post again, it even says once they are solid on the PC and working like they should be they will submit them. That means, once again, VALVe is making sure the DLC actually works well before they send it off to Microsoft/Sony. It will work fine on the PC on release, because guess what? VALVe is actually a pretty competent game design company when it comes to the technical side of things. You can’t argue that.

Imagine that making sure something works before you force people to buy it!

My point was that even Valve doesn’t do what the OP is expecting of SD. Your need to be bitchy and slag off SD clearly clouded your ability to read.

(jazevec) #39

I think SD is already working on a new game. Which means they are staying with Bethesda. This is why they’re so silent. Which means they’re happy with Bethesda and the way they’re doing things.

Valve has a history of delivering. When was the last time you’e seen a flop from Valve ? SD has a history of releasing flawed games, thus needs to explain itself. It’s normal not to treat the competent and the incompetent the same.

(Kurushi) #40

I know there’s a patch with it but nothing is specified. I’m asking what the OP is waiting for that makes the game so broke. It’s playable right?
