True Combat: Elite Easy Installer for Windows


TC:E Easy Installer allows us to install True Combat: Elite in a very easy and fast way. The installation program includes: Enemy Territory 2.60b, True Combat Elite 0.49b, PunkBuster (updated to 09/09/2009) and a pk3 files from most popular TC:E servers. After you install the game using this installer, you can smoothly connect to the most popular servers and start playing without any problems!

What is True Combat: Elite?
TrueCombat:Elite (TCE) is a modern world total conversion of the free, popular, stand-alone first-person shooter, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. TCE is a tactical-team shooter, set up in a modern-world environment. TCE puts you into the role of elite mercenary soldier in the conflicts of two internationally operating forces. The Global Intervention Force (GIF626 aka in-game as “Spec Ops”) is a special force formed of the top of the world experts joining from US Delta force, UK SAS, German KSK and GSG9, to mention a few. An international mercenary organization known as “The Unit” (aka “Terror” in-game) is their opponent. It was reported that some members of the Unit were once with the Special Op forces, but the lure of money was strong.

How to install:

  1. Downlad the installer.
  2. Run tc_easy_installer_win_18092009.msi (*)
  3. Choose a custom directory for installation or use default location “c:\Program Files\TCE” (recommended)
  4. After an installation is completed you are able to play TC:E. The game shortcut should be created on the desktop and it is named True Combat Elite

How to play:

  1. Run TC:E using a shortcut from your desktop (*)
  2. IMPORTANT: setup your game profile (try to use LAN/CABLE/xDSL and PunkBuster ENABLED settings to avoid most of the PunkBuster kicks), apply any changes.
  3. Klick on DEPLOYMENT in the main menu and double-click on the server name you want to connect.
  4. Play fair and have fun! :slight_smile:

* - if you are Windows Vista user with UAC enabled, you need to do it as administrator!

Btw: is that a clean installer, I mean without configs, profiles, etkeys etc, like after installation with the original installers…?

Yes. The only difference is, that you will have both games installed on the hard drive + some maps and packs from the most popular TCE servers. This means, that after installation you will create your profile and you will be able to start the game with no extra downloads (of course, it hasn’t all packs, but in most cases, it will be enough).

is there a linux-version of this? something got f***-up in my w:et install

nope, those are windows files only :< and a windows type installer (.msi)

best way is to make a backup copy of etkey/cfg/screenshots/demos and reinstal the game i think =)

i plan to make a linux fast installer, but that is at planning stage for now :stuck_out_tongue:
