TLR Nations Cup

Something I’ve been contemplating for a while is running a Nations Cup. Of course, the OCB World Cup is still running, so the earliest my Nations Cup would start would be some time after that.

The basics that I’m looking at are these:

  • 5v5 (Maybe 6v6).
  • Hoping to gather at least 8 nations.
  • It will be played on ETQWPro, this is only because of the competition settings it includes (such as pause, lock team, etc), however a ruleset is yet to be determined.

I’m only looking for interest and your feedback/ideas just now. I should be able to provide servers etc due to YCN Hosting’s involvement.

So, what do you think? All nations are welcome btw, and I may consider splitting the UK up into its constitutional countries as well.

Reason I’m posting in “General” section is to encourage all players to get involved, not just those who play on ETQWPro.

But who decides on the lineup of each nation?

maybe do a captain vote if its not unanimous or maybe one country can have more than one team. “In the finals north-G versus west-G” ^^

Captains would apply for captaincy, similar to ClanBase.

I think you should set up a new site or a new thread for the applies for captaincy and for the votes.

Nice idea, but, it will happen a wednesday or during week-end ? If it’s during the week-end, count on France to play !

Yea great idea sean! i think it will bring back some old players as well if it gets heard enough like last years Nations cup… Yea Sundays are probably the best time to run a cup as the majority of players have time off work/college etc :slight_smile:

It will work like the old Nations Cup worked; there will be no set days to play but there will be a time period where matches must be played (for example 20th - 26th September). If a game has not been scheduled on those days, I will force it to the Sunday (in that instance of my example: 26th September).
