Please stop making new threads and stop encouraging piracy. That is all.

(xTriXxy) #23

there will be no demo for brink

(kilL_888) #24

what? you mean, like, no threads at all? or no threads where i “encourage” piracy? or threads where i ask for a beta?

not sure what you mean there.

and… i wouldnt say i encourage piracy. piracy is out there you know. people always have and will pirate. theres nothing to encourage. it doestn make any difference at all if i would say, people, dont pirate, it hurts the companies.

because i think thats actually false. piracy unfortunately is the only way to take a real look at a game nowadays. (if you want to buy it as fast as possible, which most people do)

thanks to marketing, no one has the patience to wait for a demo (if there ever will be one). so… i am “forced” to pirate a game that im so eager to play. and based on this i decide if i buy a game or not.

you dont buy a car before you test drived it. dont you?

to close the case:
i bought etqw because i played the demo and liked it.
i bought crysis2 because i liked the leaked singleplayer beta. (which i of course didnt download, but played)

and… believe it or not.

i will wait for a demo before i consider buying brink. i dont have enough money to throw away for a game thats i saw only on gameplay videos. i made that mistake with age of conan a few years back and wont make that mistake again.

i 100% agree.
buying game without testing beta/demo or pirated copy is very risky.

(Murderous Pie) #27

I think it is safe to say that brink does not need a beta anyway, half of the reason it was delayed was just so that SD could playtest and refine what they had made.

Risky? HTFU mate. It’s $50. If you can’t afford to gamble $50 then wait til the game comes out and read reviews.

I bet you spend way more than $50 in a night out on the piss. Get a sense of perspective PLEASE.

(DarkangelUK) #29

The game will FAIL without random forumites input (he really wants to give input, he doesnt just want early access to the game, honest)! RELEASE BETAS to make it BETTAS!

brink is anorher category of game, if there will be no demo i dont care. but if game will be fail, i know where to go:) SD towers! ;p

Joke is, he will not be paying even that. Price point in Russia will be much closer closer to 20 bucks.

(xTriXxy) #32

talking about perspective.

50$ or 45€ for that matter is a relative number. based on my monthly income its either a big or a small number. do you know how much my monthly income is? no. and of course i wont tell anyone.

if you dont live with mommy and have to pay for everything, you have to think before spending money thats worth like ~2 weeks of food.

so. id rather not “gamble” that 50 bucks. i spend them wisely.

But if you wait for the review, you can’t have the EXCLUSIVE pre-order barbie skin!

I never said it is, your insecurities got ahead of you.

kilL_888
You basically just announced it to whole forum, man!

(LyndonL) #36

You don’t seem to be lacking mate. You must be spending a fortune on that forum of yours and all the stuff that goes with it.

I’m 28. Haven’t lived with mommy for over 10 years. If $50 is such a massive decision for you, perhaps you made some poor life choices and are still making poor life choices since it sounds like you should be saving your money for your regular expenses rather than play time… Mind you if you can afford a PC/PS3/XBox to play Brink on me thinks you’re not as hard up as you suggest.

My bad. In that case… GIEF ME BETA. I IZ WRITE MESSAGEZ ON FORUM SO ME IZ ENTITLED>>>>!!!1one!11111

Then rent it when it’s out.

And don’t tell me you shouldn’t have to pay to “try the whole thing” or use the car scenario.

Car dealerships are giving you a courtesy by letting you test drive their car because they hope you will buy it. You’re still costing them money by burning their gas. If they made you pay a fee to test drive the car you’d be more serious about “test driving” the car.

There’s gamefly for games. Netflix. I can get any movie that’s on DVD with some patience through netflix. I don’t need to download the movie because I feel entitled to watch it today. I’m hoping one day gamefly will work cross console network and you can download the game temporarily in the future and play it until you want something else for a subscription. Some people switch games so much that would be a steal for them.

Don’t tell me there are no other options.

this is another category. i love spending $ on nice things. brink game is one of them. forum with all addons and skins its still below 1000e (my limit)

(H0RSE) #39

for a beta you need to be able to give feedback. a console player does not necessarily have a pc or internet connection to give that feedback.

…the Brink betas were done on PS3…

(kilL_888) #40
Then rent it when it’s out.
pc users cant rent them games. them pc games come with a serial number.

Mind you if you can afford a PC to play Brink on me thinks you’re not as hard up as you suggest.

i bought my pc a couple of years ago. so, that money was spent on soemthing that i use for several years. that minimizes the amount spent.

with a game its different. in a perfect world you play that game for a long time, too. but WHAT IF the game is not what i expected from gameplay videos? i throw it away. its like throwing away that money i spent. (i think for console players its acutally different. they can exchange their games. not sure though)

(btw. i wasnt implying you still live with you mommy. it was just a generel statement  )

anyways. this discussion is going a way i didnt want it to go in the first place. my concern was that splash damage delivers a game thats working properly. i used crysis2 as a comparison. crysis2 is a really nice game, but it suffers from some major bugs. and this alone is the reason why i think its so important splash damage should release a public beta test. make sure the tech works in a realistic enviroment, not just their office.

because i am a fan. i want brink to be a success. i want to make sure it will be a success. i want to take an active part in this. only way i can do this pre launch is the beta.
