Time decreasing.

It is very frustrating to play as the defenders if you completely own the map and you still have to wait the 20 - 30 mins. This is why I thought of a system to make it better:

Make some time bonuses on objectives.

For example:

Fuel dump:
Allies have 10 minutes time.
Destruction of the tunnel door: +10 mins
Destruction of the corner (the place where the tank finally stops) +5 mins

Oasis:
Base time 10 minutes
Destruction of the old city wall +10mins
Destruction of a gun +5mins

Radar:
Base time 10 minutes
Destruction of side door +5min
Destruction of main door +5min

And so on…

hmm i think that could actually work pretty well in a mod, im not so much thinking of the defenders finding the owning a little dull (try swapping teams to even it up some?) but for the attackers hwo are likely finding getting spawnraped for half an hour more than a little dull.

I think that is an excellent suggestion. Unfortunately the chances are slim that it would be implemented.

I like it… because if the allies haven’t done the basic first objective in about 10 minutes then usually they won’t be able to beat the axis anyways (unless they get bored or people quit)

Nice way to cut down on 30 minute times :smiley:

While I think it’s a good idea, I don’t know if I’d like it… because a team I was on earlier took like 15-20 minutes to blow the old city wall… then 5 minutes later we blew both guns… so… had that been the case, we wouldn’t have won.

Cool idea nonetheless.

Maybe not in a patch, but perhaps in shrub or bani (if possible, I’m not qualified at all juding that :eek2: ). Let us hope.

it would be a great idea for clan matches

the idea of victory conditions - been a few ideas tossed around on what to do to make ET ‘better’ for comp play - I think this is better than most ideas Ive heard. thinking out of the box - however, it would require a mod or patch, which makes it problematic

Probably not. I like the idea, but I cant see them adopting this for any league. They typically run the leagues with as close to default settings as possible with the exception of cvar restrictions . TWL though is changing a few settings for their new ET league, but my feeling is that they would get too much negative input if they adopted this kind of setting.

Having said that, would be a very nice feature and regardless of whether it’s used in leagues or not, I see it as a welcome change.

Only one way to find out. :smiley: I think if it works well, players would be for it. The long map times is one of the big issues.

In any case, I think it would be very nice for pub play.

Not sure what you would do about stopwatch ? I guess holding the first objective for the intial time would count as a full hold. A set time (not full hold) would, I assume give you the full time for the first stage, but then cut into the maximum possible time ? Or I suppose you could set the time for each stage, e.g. if team 1 built the bridge in 2 minutes the team 2 would have to beat that. I think I like the first method better…
