This Has Gotta Be Fixed!

Hi Splash damage,

Great game. However they is one thing that is stopping me from playing it. :frowning: I play all my games at 1024x768 res, the same as my desktop. I have WinME and a GeForce 4 4600ti Ultra. However when i goto play ET. The game loads ok. I start a game and my refresh rate has been changed, and the screen flickers and looks bad, giving me a head ache after a few mins. You can tell the exact moment it goes wrong. When you click on a server to join. As soon as the map screen with the server loading screen appears my monitor click as if it’s changing resolution. I have noticed in the console when i connect to a game it has my res setting 1024x768 then it says HZ n/a?. When i go back to my desktop it’s also been changed, and i have to set it back to optimal. (85HZ). Please fix this in the next patch. Thanks!

Never thought of reducing the Resoultion?

I started at 1024Xwhatever. but I changed back to the basic, less slowdown etc etc.

You can use the r_displayrefresh command to set the refresh rate that the game uses. Like this in the console
/r_displayrefresh 85

That should be remembered after you set it. Of course, you can only use refresh rates that your vid card and monitor actually support.
