This game isnt "Revolutionary" <_<

(hawksking) #1

Okay im really pissed off right now, all the hype of months and this is what I get?

1)Over powered bots that sometime have 0 reaction time and kill you before you even shoot.
2)In “Multiplayer” I expect to play with multi “players” not bots, if we wanted that then why not just erase the multiplayer since they are consumed by bots.
3)Why do I lag like hell when playing freeplay? I dont pay expensive bills every month to get this kind of lag… fix your damn servers or program the game to choose a better host…
4)How about simplifying the game and keeping it bot free…

This isnt revolutionary… The dev think the bots are smart but they were a waste of time and experiment. Reduce there reaction time but i prefer removing them so we can play the actual MULTIPLAYER

Thanks again for wasting my money… … …

Not a fan of a bots either. Nothing to do with SD’s job on them, just out of principle.

That said, the bots have a lot of potential, you can see they’re capable of more. It’s just that their combat skills vs strategic skills vs skill balance between friendly and enemy bots needs some tweaking.

They do a good job doing objective but i expect to play with other players around the world when im in multiplayer. If I wanted bots I would launch a singleplayer campaign <_<

(Sind) #4

I think that you can remove the Bots in the Custom Options.

(hawksking) #5

I dont see that option in public match + every game mode i try other than “standard” has no one in it playing. I mean how worse can this “revolution” get…

(Striker92) #6

servers decide if bots are enabled or not, assuming ur playing on a pc…
also if bots are to good turn the difficulty down

(eMwegA) #7

i dont like bots either. what i expected was: Campaing mode -> choose VS. and get matched with 15 other ppl together to play the campaing mode. Not coop. Seems like it was planed since the “coop option” is only grayed out and not completely missing.

Im not on PC, im on Xbox 360

(Tandem) #9

Your right, it’s not revolutionary, but who said it was?

(Trypsinogen) #10

From what I heard, Splash Damage was constantly touting that this game would be innovative.

(hawksking) #11

End of trailers, dev dairies, and the back of disc cover

(tokamak) #12

I think it is revolutionary, it’s just still incredibly coarse, in any case, bots and lag are never a reason a game can’t be revolutionary.

(xTriXxy) #13

Brink is revolutionary game.

show me game, where you dont need to care about movement? all what you need to do in brink is following objectives.

(Hundopercent) #14

Evolution is still a better term. It’s an evolved FPS, nothing much about it makes it revolutionary. It’s an amazing foundation for future FPS’s including Brink 2.

(tokamak) #15

Evolved would be using tried and true techniques in a shooter together. Brink uses highly wild and experimental features.

All the ETs including RTCW do this and even more better than Brink.

Brink went backwards in terms of everything ET made great.

(throwback8) #17

Old skool and competitive have no bots. And I have found them to be completely lag free which I don’t understand. Regular playlist is laggy as all hell for me. Once I changed I’ve been having an amazing time and haven’t looked back.

Revolution: a sudden, radical, or complete change

Objectives - Already done in multiple games.

Parkour - Executed quite well in Mirrors Edge.

SMART - Which is their version of Parkour is ok. It can often put you out of position or stick you more often then not.

Evolution: A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form.

Brink is an evolved FPS and an excellent foundation for future games. Unless I missed the revolution part where they added something never seen before that completely changes how FPS’s are played.

Edit: Unless you’re talking about the online co-op **** which is just a glorified bot game. The game was dramatically over hyped and very well done by Bethesda. It’s their job to do that. Activision does the same.

Home grown gaming. That’s what I considered you guys. But you pissed on yourselfs and your community, it’s like golden shower porn- but I don’t roll that way. So I put brink on delete, took a shower and now it’s time for the rant.

I’ve stuck by you guys, probably longer than you’ll stick by me (expecting delete after first paragraph) I’ve sat in server and told the people criticizing your “product” that with a line of patches it will be awesome. I’ve watched the servers go from 1400, too 500, to 1000 and had high hopes. Finally a futuristic ET concept!

Today, I got beat down by 3 invisible players. over and over. Turns out they were having a right troll following me around, while I had no sound because it now dies after 3 minutes of gameplay, and just jumping me for the ****s and giggles.

Now, I understand you have no control over what third party programs get released, but Jeez. You’d think you’d stop using the same tried and true Quake engine as your base, which is so easy to code nefarious elements for. You lean on vac like every other **** game - rely on the same hitbox concept as every other game. Well, Invisible players don’t have hit boxes.

Where is this revolution we were promised? Because of your fail game and the immense hype you have given it, even after delays, The customization? the “quadrillion” character possiblities? I.E. not pants with 12 different textures and the same pair of pants for three archetypes? The flowing, E.T. style campaigns? Finally, SMART? which is more like RETARD with to boot, tiny console maps. Pathetic. I’m never buying one of your products ever again.

I hope you’re sipping chardonnay at the pool front with my, and everyone else’s money you pieces of ****, because it’s going to be short lived if you keep releasing games like this, and as a marketer, you need to understand that word of mouth will destroy you- You can pay for your positive reviews but more and more people are depending on good old fashioned word of mouth.

My word on splash damage has gone from Home Grown gamers making games, to People who lie, cheat and twist the truth to create hype for pieces of ****, that arn’t worth the money, time or following. There are free fps’s which have given me more satisfaction than this. Pathetic.

I’m not commenting on the quality here, just comparing to how different Brink is from recent shooter titles.

Brink is a radical change, first game to seperate classes from the weapons, three radically different bodytypes allowing for all kinds of weird setups. There’s no other game that comes close this.

Just the mere fact that you’re calling it an excellent foundation for future games means that it’s already revolutionary. It took a huge leap for better and worse and the rest of the shooter genre is watching with bathed breath to see where it went wrong and where it went right in order to evolve the shooter further.
