This game died quick.

Sorry, but a laggy launch for BC2 =/= Brink’s lack of dedi servers should be ignored, nor does it excuse the lack.

(Nail) #82

I wonder how many people bought that PoS Bulletstorm to get the Gears beta test

(jazevec) #83

Except for Blizzard forums, where the validity is multiplied by the poster’s win/loss ratio.

(THEJORRRG) #84

It’s because it’s laggy. After the fix it’ll be back up and alive.
I don’t know how it is for the console versions but the server population for the PC version is dwindling down.
Just a few days ago, we had over 700 active servers. It’s been reduced to around 450 within a matter of days. I’d be very concerned if i were in their shoes.
Erf, no, you just refreshed your server browser too few hours after a patch, all server have not patched yet.
1 hour after patch : only 300 servers up
few hours after : 700
Just a matter of waiting a bit

(Gamer2Gamers) #86

I can barely get a game with people anymore, quite irritating.

It’s so sad to see the argument “the game has only been out 1 week, give them time to fix it.”

There used to be a time when games had to be ready for release before they were actually released. If they weren’t, they flopped hard and had no chance for recovery. This was their incentive to make good games.

We shouldn’t have to put up with game breaking bugs after we’ve paid $65 for their game. Brink honestly feels like a BETA right now.

There used to be a time when studio had funding for the whole product production duration.
With current costs, this is not the case anymore unless you are producing an already proven top A franchise, which means by all means do not innovate and keep the product as simple and easy to handle as possible for the masses.
2 things Brink is lacking

All innovative, semi new or out-of-mainstream productions I’ve seen lately (ie, for several years now) are screwed with the same fate :frowning:

Even more so given it was release a week early ffs! why didnt they take that week to try it out themselves? they soon would have realised MP was b0rked on the 360.

Thanks for stating that!

(iezza) #91

Likewise to you.

(Jess Alon) #92

Obviously you have no friends or you’re playing at the wrong time because I play with full teams all the time.

(Smokeskin) #93

I appreciate the game more and more as time goes by. And getting that sound bug fixed has been great, it was reallym really annoying.

(wolfnemesis75) #94

How can a game die quick that JUST came out? Why sooo much hate for this game? Brink is awesome.

(Jess Alon) #95

I’m playing co-op with a full 8 man team of randoms whom I’ve never seen before. Is it possible you’re selecting solo by accident?

(yoomazir) #96

Nobody says the contrary (even if it has HUGE flaws), but you can’t deny that there isn’t a strong following for this game on consoles (dunno about the PC community).
For a game where consoles market was it’s main priority that’s pretty much the big fail.

I predict ET: Return to Brink, featuring removal of SMART, bodytypes, and featuring better classes & vehicles.

When did Splash Damage say that? Are you sure you arent thinking of Epic games?

(yoomazir) #98

Not really, haven’t you seen the 2009 video previews? One can reasonably guess that the game was set for consoles when you see the buttons of a xbox 360 controller displayed in the game.
Obviously PC users aren’t gonna use consoles controllers for clan/competition isn’t it?
