ok now i know people love 360 snipes and junk in mw2. but think like all the crap we can do in BRINK!!! just think of some for me. like doing a sliding dual pistole ass whoopin or a wall hop head shot with a sniper.
think of all the tricks!!
I haven’t seen footage, or heard any confirmation on dual wielding, and I’m not entirely sure how much shooting/gunplay you can do while traversing across the terrain. And headshots with snipers mean pretty much bunk since 1) there are no ‘true’ sniper rifles in Brink, and 2) no one-shot kills (by default)…even in the head.
lol yeah i guese i got a little excited. but there will be snipers right?
Also, regarding the sniper rifle in the vid, yes we do have rifles in game that kind of look and feel like sniper rifles. But as I’ve mentioned in past interviews, the important thing is that this is NOT a game where guys can hide in the bushes and spend a whole match doing one hit kills against everyone they see. Our ‘sniper rifles’ are much less powerful than what you’d expect to see in other shooters. Plus, our levels are much tighter with very few huge wide open spaces. So we’re not really the game for players who like to snipe and nothing else.
That said, the guns are great, and work really well in a team capacity, because one defender with those rifles can do a great job of ‘softening up’ the opposition so they can be polished off by their comrades SMARTING all over the place with their sub machine guns :)
notice how he uses the term ‘softening up’ instead of ‘killing.’
i hope fights wont turn into 2 people repeatedly sliding in differant directions in an attempt to dodge bullets while firing wildly…
Something has to replace bunnyhopping in gunfights
I always loved that so I guess sliding around is fun, too.
At least as long you do have good control and you are not too hard to hit so it doesn’t get random.

sure, so you can now[finally]out-slide enemies, instead out-bynnyhop them

True, but bunny hopping usually screwed with the spread pretty well so it discouraged it a bit. As long as the hit reg is good on a person sliding it should work out okay.
The whole sliding in and out of cover instead of bunnyhopping around will bring something new to shooting. i think it will be a fun experience, not a tedious one. good idea guys.
afaik you can shoot while jumping and while sliding (but afaik based on your mobility, not sure though).
but yeah, having people sliding around someones feet will make any low-sens aimer rage
I miss Bunny hop in today’s fps games. Bunny hopping with a shotgun and taking off someone head in SOF2 was awesome.
If you miss it so much how about playing some ‘older’ games (even though they might not have any use for mid-combat bunnyhopping
)
ET cough
I can see the term ‘Brinkhopping’ being added to the internet’s dictionary some time after this game is released
Hey everyone, came out of a brief period of lurking and decided to join ^^
I definitely hope we’ll be able to do some reasonably accurate shooting whilst on the move, could make for some epic acrobatic kills…as for the sniper, maybe it’ll be similar to the Rifle from shadowrun (if anyone here actually played it :P)? Scoped, semi-auto, but nowhere near a one-shot kill.
what about mines, traps or similar.
i haven’t seen any mention of these.
Engineer’s can lay landmines and build turrets, Operatives will have some sort of radar (at least through interrogation) and they might have some sort of smoke or disorientation device…probably a way to disable devices (like turrets)
ya i wouldnt be suprised if the operatives could disable the engineers turrets. similiar to the spy in TF2
