think of all the tricks!!

Afaik, Turrets are hackable, the interrogation effectively gives wallhacks (for your team) on all enemy players for 30 seconds (revealing disguised enemy spies).

The weird thing about the no-one shot kill is that someone on SD said the game generally had a 3-4 shot kill system (CoD4esque but one more than MW2). A headshot from a sniper AMP’d by an engie will probably insta-kill a non-hp buffed light body type, but everything else will be hard to determine.

Personally, I think that, in terms of headshots, light and heavy body types should die almost as fast, though that is a little severe since they move so slow.

Still… I’m a little annoyed because no scoping was so much fun in MW2, but only when the gun wasn’t semi-auto. Then again guys the video was bolt…

so if someone on your team completes a successful interrogation any one on their team can hack the turret?

(Lequis) #23

no, a spy can always hack turrets. The hacking tool can hack at any distance, but it takes less time if you are closer to the objective you are hacking. Hacking the turret makes it attack the other team, but the spy may have to come in contact (I am not sure about this part) with it to get a code in order to hack long ranged (for balancing reasons). Other stuff about turrets (they have soft collisions, so you can walk through them, but not stand in them. Turrets are disabled once they are lightly damaged, but must be heavily damaged to be destroyed. Turrets overheat after each kill and have a delay before they fire. Turrets trace one target (even after he is behind cover), so teams can use one member to distract the turret, the other to kill it. Also, turrets are supposedly used primarily as a distraction, SD says you have to be blind/distracted to miss them. Their power is similar to that of an assault rifle (maybe a little less damage per second than your average player with a light weapon).

On interrogation: if a spy interrogates an downed enemy, everyone on his team can see enemies (including disguised spies) through walls for 30 seconds.

Spies can disguise as an enemy by walking up to a dead enemy’s corpse and swapping clothes (there should be team damage in most game modes so you can’t “spy check” like in TF2).

Spies can back stab too I’ve heard.

From my understanding, if the turrets are hacked, they become property of the other team.

(mjjdj88) #25

oh ok. so its like the UAV from modern warfare. thats a kool idea. but how would the “through walls” work out?

(mjjdj88) #26

that would be kool if teams could steal other teams turrets

(Lequis) #27

you see an enemy outline through the walls, or a colored silhouette on the wall probably. No videos/comments have been made about it as far as I’m concerned.

I edited my previous post like crazy in case you read all of it before I switched some of the wording/added to it.

(mjjdj88) #28

ok that would make sense. and ya i re read. very informative. clarified basically all of my turret questions. thanks a bunch bud

Opponents are going to be shown on the radar only (afaik thats what rahdo said on crossfire)
revealing the exact position and stance of all the opponents would be a bit too crucial (especially for 30 seconds - which is an awfully long time in action based shooters)

I think he said you could upgrade the ability and it would let you see enemies through walls, or something like that.

(Sssaap) #31

but only for the covert himself and not for the whole team right?
(otherwise that would be kind of ridiculous imo)

(H0RSE) #32

I think it is only for the Operative:

(taken from Gameradar preview)

Downed players don’t die out straight away, and during that time they can be interrogated by Operatives, an action that outlines enemy players through walls and floors for that Operative.

(and Rahdo’s response to the question below)

Seems abit like a wall hack, maybe you could further explain how this works.?

It kind of is, though that was an upgraded (high level) version of interrogation they were seeing in the demo… the low level one puts enemies only on radar for a little while. but it’s important to remember that when someone does do a successful high level interrogation against one of your teammates, you know about it (“one of our squad as been interogated. be careful!” autochatter from the squad commander), so you KNOW that the enemy is aware of you, and you can react appropriately. plus, there’s cool down - operatives have to wait awhile before they can do it again, as a further balancing measure.

^ that would make it fair. if the whole team got to see everyone through walls it would get out of hand.
