I had a lot to say but then realized that you had a point as far as “They’ve had forums for awhile”. That said, it still might take time to customize the page. You can see how the Combat Arms forum is styled so you can assume that sooner or later they will add some sort of different style to the Extraction forum as well. As far as the SEO nightmare of “%2Fsearch.php%3Fsearch_type%3D1%26” in the URL, the designer nightmare of a 900+px header, and the annoyance of the every 30min login, maybe these complaints hold ground. But I still feel like the level of discontent thrown at Nexon as a whole for a few inconveniences in their forums is irrational and I just wanted to say something.
And the day I meet a pre-teen that knows HTML5/XHTML, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, OOP PHP4/5, SQL/MySQL and the best practices for each will be the day I’m out of a job. More accurately, the day I’m unable to find a job. Or maybe this is why it’s been so hard to find a job… uh oh…
Not the same field but at 14 I was imaging, building, indepth troubleshooting and pretty much doing a standard T2 deskside support position. I’ve seen kids doing similar work as early as 9. You would be surprised how young kids learn this stuff and are actually proficient at it. Self teaching is, in my opinion, superior to any other form of learning. Best practices is something you can Google and figure out.
The level of service and quality set by SD is high. We do not expect that to change more so now than ever since they are independently working on this project. People buy Camry’s because of their quality and reputation. If Toyota started dishing out Kia quality vehicles the feedback from their loyal buyers would be no different than what SD is getting right now.
