The voicechat: which team's do you think is the coolest?

I love the quickchat feature myself (I find the game’s rather dull when nobody uses it), but which team do you think has the coolest voice acting? At first I thought most of the axis chats were pretty awful, with a few being absolutely horrendous (like the grating ‘rattraaarck!’), but since I’ve been playing solely as Axis for the past week or so I’ve come to find them pretty hilarious. Overall I think the allied vchat is done better, especially the cheers.
I’ve a question about the vchat however, about some commands which you hear people using from time to time and which I can’t find anywhere in the menus (like the above-mentioned ‘attack’). There appear to be a bunch of hidden commands, some of which I’ve only heard once or twice before. Only a few days ago I heard one which I’d never encountered before, I forget what it was exactly. At any rate, how do you access them?

Use the search button and enter “ftreviveme” as your query term–you find any number of threads that list all the available vsay commands.

By the way, you can reach all the fireteam quickchats via the fireteam quickchat menu–but you have to be a member of a fireteam to use them that way. It’s much easier to just bind the useful ones after having read through one of the lists.

The voice acting for both teams was done by the same person (Drew Markham), but I prefer the Axis chats because I think they’re hilarious. :stuck_out_tongue: The Axis ‘Deploy mortar!’ sound (FTMortar) is particularly amusing.

I prefer the cheers for allies as well. Too bad you cant insult the enemy…Im sure they have said worse things dueing the war than “the enemy is weakened!”

The chat box is really easy to miss.

One of the largest problems I think is the fact that it is so hard to communicate with people… the voice commands usually aren’t enough when you get specific and it doesn’t have built in voice chat, along with the fact that the chat at the bottom starts to disapear pretty quickly…

I really miss the demo’s voice chats. The axis field op’s “I’m a field ops” would always draw chortles of laughter from me, because it sounded like Dracula. “Eyem a fieeeeeeeeeeld opszzzzzz!” Man I just want to download the demo again so I can extract the sound effects to play when I am feeling down!

My favo is the axis voice on GR, when the bank doors are blown. Im sure you know the voice I talking about: “They have brrroken into the bank!” (He sounds so… so… I dont know. Help me.)

If you have a browse through the pak0.pk3 file with winzip you can extract all the audio files as wav’s

The covert op should get some subterfuge banter–something like the axis dude could say “Say, that Statue of Liberty sure is great, yeah?” or “Boy, how I love baseball…” and the allied spy could say “Vhere can I find a decent schnitzl around here?” or “Ze fuhrer sure keeps a vell groomed army.”

And the medic should get some voicechats where he bitches about how the medic’s job sucks: “All fucking day… tap out right before I get there. Whoops! Another guy’s down. Oh wait, he’s just gonna tap out too. Hey, you there! Go ahead and tap out–save me the walk. You obviously don’t want to win this war, anyway. Asshats.”

And the SMG Soldier class shoud be pre-programmed to globally chat “I’m an absolute dumbass” every ten seconds.

I’m a great fan of the vsays meself, so perhaps someone out there can clarify whether my ears were deceiving me or not. Was playing a game as allies on SD server a while back and someone called for ammo and I heard a reply of “No can do!”

At least thats what I think I heard. Almost certain I did :slight_smile:

Any idears?
