Welp in this patch sparks just got thrown into the garbage, that’s what I think, the first REVIVR gun nerf I somewhat understand, just needed to adjust the numbers a bit on fall off, now they nerf her augment quick charge from 25% to 15%, that’s a ton. In my opinion maybe 20% would of been fine, now there a fall off for revive distance? Sparks is a merc where the player is rewarded for picking up a player from afar, now what I think is she get a little accomplishment from doing anything. She can’t revive as effectively, she can’t defend herself as well, all she can do is run and pack herself, and with the empire-9 nerfs there no effective way to defend herself now. As the main sparks player in the team WAR I feel I wouldn’t be see sparks as much anymore, sparks should be rewarded for defending herself and picking up team mates when needed, now there is little reward to playing sparks. Its just really sad now, sparks before all her nerfs already had a high skill cap, of course there are the average sparks players and a small amount of the great ones that can play sparks. With this, spark’s skill cap just hit the ceiling and broke through it no problem at the same time a small reward for playing her. I find that players that try sparks are already frustrated that she so hard to play, and when someone gets really good at her, a large part of the community just basically says “SPARKS OP PLZ NERF” when really that person put in hours and hours on her. Honestly, I don’t wanna play sparks anymore, its just not fun anymore, I have about 50+ hours spent on sparks, and I feel like it just went to waste… Anyway that’s my rant about the sparks nerfs, tell me what you think should be done?

It’s one thing to nerf her combat capability, it’s entirely another to actually FUCK UP her support abilities
Its garbage thats what it is. Why not remove her rifle and maker revive people with her hands???
I honestly think that she needs to be reworked. Apparently, the ability to one shot most mercs with headshots combined with ranged revives is simply too strong in the right hands. That really isn’t an unreasonable view. However, instead of nerfing every other part of her into the ground (making her unplayable in most people’s hands), they need to take away the 120 damage headshots. Rework her revivr and be done with it. If the best players can’t run around and instakill opponents, sd could tune her so that she is actually playable in the average player’s hands. I’d be sad to see current sparks go. However, a playable but generic sparks is better than a unique sparks that’s been nerfed into the ground.
I don’t really think it needed to go this far. this really is too far. She needed to be rebalanced not destroyed.
I was a supporter of nerfing the revive gun and buffing other areas of sparks. Not nerfing everything.
Remove a good portion of the damage from the revivr and buff her primaries and secondaries and possibly medpacks. I don’t understand why they needed to nerf everything. Yikes, splash damage. Missing the mark on this one I think.
How to fix Sparks:
1)Revert all changes to REVIVR and MPs
2)REVIVR does not headshot (instead doing normal bodyshot damage)/reduced headshot damage (1.25/1.50 instead of 2.00 for example)
3)Reduce medpack cooldown by 2s

Yep, this would work. I suggested something similar way back in november because I didn’t want every other part of sparks’ kit to get nerfed into the ground to balance out 130 damage headshots. And now, look what happened! Every other part of sparks kit got nerfed into the ground in an attempt to balance out 130 damage headshots.
Another interesting option might be to make the revivr more like the dreiss. Tap fire with left click, charge up with right click (no scope). Tap fires have vaguely dreiss like damage/rof but can’t revive, full charged shots can revive but don’t deal extra damage. If a pseudo-sniper is op on a medic, give her a pseudo-assault rifle instead. You’d have to screw around a lot with the numbers and accuracy of the resulting gun, but it could work.
Why bother reviving anyone if they only come back with minimal health with a mid-level charge? - Someone should test numbers on this and report back. I need to know if I should bother trading up for sparks cards anymore.
I’d rather have this stay but damage falloff go away. Nerf the revive since she has it way easier than other medics, but not the combat potential, railguns are damn FUN and take skill to use.
The damage drop off was justified, just a little too high (25% or so would have been better IMO) especially as whacking people up close was where the fun was and not making Vaselines feel bad. Nerfing her revive power is completely uncalled for. Thankfully the MP nerf we were told about turned out to be mostly negligible all things considered, but the nerf to revive was not necessary. Sparks already has to deal with very long “get up” time for everyone she revives.

Keep in mind she comes from a way OP concept and all this nerfs just make her easier to counter but far from unplayable.
When people will learn to make good flanks, Sparks will (probably) deserve a buff, but atm she’s fine and balanced.
Sparks revive has been broken for a long time, the comp community has been calling for nerfs to her revive for ages. It’s a shame it has taken forever as I know a lot of people who refuse to play this game because of sparks.
Imo, nerfing her damage output with the Revivr is fair, but nerfing her revives is essentially making less useful.
I’d actually find reverting ALL of that fine if she couldn’t heal, don’t know why she should be able to heal herself anyhow. Have the Revivr heal and get rid of her packs.

The issue is her revives are broken af and desperately need toning down.
