All of this talk of ‘we need better matchmaking to solve it’ does nothing to stop the deliberate team swapping to create a stack and force a spawn camp. Its an attitude change that needs to happen, or a forced protection area to stop spawn camps. Autobalance only solves this until the players that want to create this specs, or swaps back.

Public party matchmaking may help this, as the shuffle algorithm at least knows that 3 players will want to be on the same side so has a chance to try and level the match using the other players.

Spawncamp: sitting inside the same room / area players spawn in with health stations, turrets, ammo, superior positioning and / or deliberate stacked teams.

Not spawncamping: blocking routes to the objective with a solid defence.

thats why i would love to have some shields that help the disadvantaged team to survive more than 2 seconds before waiting 20 seconds to respawn

i know that its just cosmetic, i didnt even say that they are stronger
i just said that they had at least bronze rarity and the sparks had a op loadout

Right now I think something is wrong with matchmaking, that’s what is causing the spawn camping. Yesterday I played 4 games and my team just steamrolled 3 of the 4. On the 4th my team was getting steamrolled, had no chance on bridge, but at least as proxy I can carry the first 2 objectives. I knew we were screwed though when it came to stage 3. Anyways, it’s always important to figure out what is the root cause and not try to bandaid the symptom.

If you say my arm itches, put on anti itch cream, but it’s itching because you have a gaping wound seeping puss. Chances are anti itch cream isn’t what you need. In this similar respect, spawn camping is the itch, bad matchmaking is the gaping wound.

It isn’t matchmaking, well it is, but it’s more about people leaving in pubs, and people “party”-ing up in ranked…

In fact, players are those who can fix matchmaking itself… For pubs: When player see 6v7, or high levels in enemy team, he stops, writes his complaint about unfair match… It makes it player less for team through that time, while he was typing… With some luck other team will take adventage, push, start spawn camping (as a tactic to winning the game), and team in the end loses morale, and/or leave team making it completely unbalanced…
One player can change whole game.

For comp: Less players queueing up for comp, less choice does matchmaking has, which leads to (party) cobalts playing against silvers/golds… Now, for that time if there were just 5 more solo queuers there… I am pretty sure match would end pretty balanced (the bigger the number of queuers, the more fair match will be)… :slight_smile:
