Hi all,
I just wanted to voice my opinion on the new voices: they suck. Whoever the guys were, that recorded the voice tracks, were bored and uninventive at best. It always sounds like the some guy talkin to his friends in the living room 5 feet away…
Compare:
“Hello” in RTCW was like, OMG! “Hey” how you doin?
“Hello” in ET is like, “Helllloooooo” out there in the back yard!
“WOOHOO” in RTCW is like, I JUST KILLED 13 ENEMY DUDES “WOOHOO”!!!
the axis version in ET is like, “YAHA”! You just threw a firecracker at my feet!
I think the bottom line for me, without going into every sound clip in the game, is this: Dont change a good thing. But, if you have to then keep in mind that there needs to be a MOOD with a game like this. The Axis and Allied sound and Voice clips are excellent in RTCW because they convey emotional content when they yell things. I think that the game designers wanted to update the sound clips so that it was a complete and new game… down to the voices. Which is probably a good thing… but from where I am standing… it sounds like a 35 yr old German dude that was a bundle of chear and joy when he showed up to record and a Jersey Auto Mechanic that didnt get enough sleep before he showed up at the sound stage. Not a couple of 20-something soldiers in WW2 fighting for their lives and deadly serious when they say “MEDIC!”, antogonistic when they taunt the enemy, Hatefull when they scream “The enemy is Weakened!”.
The guys used for the ET sound clips were full of beer and bored with what they were doing… and thats what it sounds like when I play ET… like Im bored and i need to go to bed.
:bored: PLEASE GOD! CHANGE THE SOUND TRACKS FOR THE VOICES! :bored:
