The MOFO Update - Bug Megathread

Hey all!

With every new update there are often a number of unforeseen issues that sneak in. To address these as quickly as possible, we’re creating a single Bug Megathread so you can let us know when you run into them. This way, you’ll have a much greater chance of having them seen by our QA team than by creating a new thread (we only have so much time for bug-thread hunting!)

Before you make a post please do a quick check to see if anyone else has reported the issue you have experienced. If so, simply up-vote their comment and we’ll know the severity of issues.


Format bug reports: When putting a bug into the comments below make sure that you give us as much information as you can. If you can remember any of the events leading up to the issue it can help us find the cause quicker.

First !!!

  • So first crash after maybe 10 min … (total shut down back to my desk)
  • Warping issue is still here, people are sometimes blinking from point to point. (Teleport ability ?) I got a really good connection (optic fiber) with a good ping.
  • Freezing issue like in the Omega video, sometimes during 10s.

I already send the log to Shoe

This happens like every minute for me, might fix itself over night but I’ll keep this here 'til I find a fix or whatever is making it happen.

Missions updates are really bad in the endgame screen. Every mission I’ve completed so far showed as incompleted on the scoreboard. Also no notifications on crate drops.

Can you check your ShooterEngine.ini and tell us what your ‘MaxObjectsNotConsideredByGC’ is set to, pretty please?

This only happens on Chapel.

Type of Bug: Badge for merc ability
Description: On the dev stream server I played Kira and placed down an ammo-station. With the first ammo XP income I received the bronze Ammo Pile badge and with the second XP income I received the silver one directly.
Video / Screenshot: N/A was too fast sorry
Steps to reproduce: Place down ammo station and let a teammate take ammo from it
Result: premature badge earning
Expected result: no premature badge earning
Reproduction rate: I hope high?

Type of Bug: Badge system
Description: I received the bronze and silver objective badge on Trainyard when the match ended. However I have neither destroyed the Track Switch nor the Blocker Carriage, but delivered both milk jugs. I don’t know if that is intended, but at least previously this was covered by the ‘can’t touch this’ badge and not by receiving the silver objective badge. What if a player destroys both C4 objs and then delivers both milk jugs? Does he receive the Cobalt objective badge?^^

Steps to reproduce: Play Trainyard (or probably also Bridge) don’t do any of the first objs but deliver both milk jugs.
Result: Received Silver objective badge instead of “Can’t touch this”.
Expected result:“Can’t touch this” badge

hello, i report the same bug of omega, in all maps, with a shorter duration than omega, about 1 second. it happens 5 times per minute. I have the same maxobjects.

I get severe framerate drops randomly, mainly on Chapel and Bridge. I’m usually sitting at 120fps constant but it drops and stutters around 55fps for a second or two then jumps back up. I’ve never edited my config in any way, all in-game settings only.

i5 4690k, 970GTX, 16gb DDR3, 240gb SSD

I also experience severe framerate drop (like under 10 fps) and although it seems to peak higher now, in general I get not stable FPS across all maps.

my MaxObjectsNotConsideredByGC is set to 137393 (not a custom config - i5 3550P, AMD 7970 w/ 3Gb, 8GB of RAM, Win7)

someone found a fix in the fps on the steam forums about going into task manager and disabling blackcipher, or something like that, it fixed the MASSIVE frame drops for me, and others…now it doesnt work anymore as you will get kicked for security violation. i hope the update tomorrow fixes this issue

Explosions sometimes arent registering.

Mines are being shielded some how. Possible a newly revived body blocking the blast? Data Core also block explosions.

Are Skyhammer air strikes smaller? Seems like they used to be much longer.

Got 3 Milk Jugs on last stage train and couldnt deliver.

Kira and Stoker ammo station blocking explosions.

Turning Thread sync on eliminated Warping of people. Lowered FPS by 80 however. Thread sync On also reduced input lag and mad the game slightly more crisp.

Yes, you deserve two badges there. Two objectives done.

Four objectives, wow!!! You should share the burden to your team.

I did two objectives just now at terminal and I didn’t get any badge (bronze or silver)… :frowning:

But technically you are not doing two objectives. In the mission progress view when you press TAB there is no progress marker for delivering one carryable or destroying one carriage in Terminal. There is only one for completing both.

I actually haven’t checked whether the ‘Can’t touch this’ badge is still there in the Profile menu, but if it is, then this definitely is a bug, because you should be awarded that one. However, if it has been removed, then there needs to be a badge for completing a fourth objective. Because if you destroy the track switch, the blocker carriage and deliver one milk jug you already have all objective badges. If you deliver the second milk jug you get nothing.

Again, I have not checked the badges in the Profiles menu, this is just subjectively and based on the patch-notes.

    i just noticed what I get the “ASD defused” but it wasn’t me who finished the defuse… yes, i did some part but i wasn’t the one who finished the job.

I think for objectives where there can be many contributors (repair / defuse / disable the EV), the one who did the biggest chunk of the work gets the credit. Although there may be a time limit on that because I’m pretty sure I recall getting credited for disabling an EV when all I did was take a few shots at it to whittle away its last few HP.

As far as I noticed objectives credits are distributed to the different players who participated in the process.

For C4 defusal, you’ll earn points for the fraction you’ve worked on it. Same for EV, but points comes by fraction of progress (send a rifle magazine on it, you probably won’t receive score directly, but as soon as some significant damage is done you’ll earn them).

Regarding the displayed name, for EV, the last hitter generally gets his name displayed, while for the C4 difusal, it’s generally the one who did the biggest part. Nevertheless, it’s not a recent bug, you can also see “[blank] disarmed C4” from time to time.
