Ever watch the “deleted scenes” feature on DVD movies? Most of the time, the deleted scenes are just so bad that it actually kind of ruins the actual movie for you.

I don’t think they will even be useful as part of the SDK since you will have the official maps to look at. I’m sure most of the maps that were cut are very rough and no where near complete and playable.

Totally agreed with u, so every single player will HAVE TO update their game and there will be no noobs (especially admins crying about hacked server). The unfinished maps can be used by other map makers in any way like objectives/textures etc. or can be finished as the the new official update for ET, but this is JUST A DREAM…As u can see there is a boom about et: qw…Whats more, before et:qw they didnt support the game…The answer is simply: becuase this is a free game…They tought that science fiction is now popular so they will leave w: et as it is and build another game based on the gr8 things in w:et. Because of the commercial character of this game they will support et:qw not w:et …Oh and the first punishment for this what happened are cheats/hacks already published for et:qw :evil:

And I agree with ur opinion. It’s boring the future, like 2890 year of fighting -> the game IMO has nothing to do with W:ET we know. It’s totally new, the new source and everything. I understand that SD is very excited in their game, but it won’t be such a success as W:ET was (and is?). Better to continue the series, something like RTCW 2, afaik another game-studio will take care about it (next sad message for fans). Oops, I made some offtop, sorry. So to the point of topic: anyone from forums staff saw even the propostion to publish the sources, to chosen mappers or something? Or we gonna discuss here just to get some hope… :o

I’d like to atleast see some screenshots of them, or, even better, they could atleast provide the community with the hi-quality textures they made for them. That would make me a happy panda.

Well I hope the developers are looking at our poll, so we can get the maps. Maybe they should launch a patch that has these maps. :nod: :drink:

i wouldnt hold your breath for a patch for an unsuported game. not to metion that the unrealsed maps are quite likely not finished so would need a lot of work to finish and playtest them.

Well I dunno if id is going to support this game anymore. ETQW came out and they’re working on that with patches and all that other stuff. So well we’ll have to see what will happen. :weird:

if you have any hope the someone is going to support the game you need to let it go. The best hope of seeing any of these maps is if an experienced and credited mapper negotiates something with splash damage to aquire the source and finish it and even that is very unlikly. That means there is a very small list of mappers who could even hope to arange somethign, and then you have to consider that they will probably be more interested in level design for newer games and engines

Somekind of support for the game would be great, cause this game is possible going to outlast ET:QW =)

It would be cool if SD had a “community volunteeers”-team , invite some of the old dogs mod/coding community, and they could, managed by SD, update and maintain ET. Maybe some of them would even evolve to “real” SD’s.

I wish we could contact SD and tell them to release these lost maps as an optional patch. But yes, SD probably is hard at work making ETQW a non-buggy, good game. So the chances of them releasing these maps are very low.

well im not sure after all these patches that there is so much left in ET that needs maintaining especially when there was so much work done buy ETpro and various others

it would perhaps be interesting to have a group of modders who would work on a map pack or something but there is nothing stopping this actuly happening its just a lot of effort and requires time and skill and these are not always easy to give. There are some articles by sock where he talks a bit about the what it was like developing the ET stock maps and some of the process they went though, so perhaps if we could get an idea of what the official process was like and follow it then some more stock style maps could be made

W:ET is good enough. It’s been fixed well, and it’s gotten lots of players over the years. So these maps probably aren’t needed considering the amount of custom maps that have came out.

could still do this, but I don’t think people will. No offence, but W:ET will end eventually, and it’s gonna be sooner than la8er imo, so i don’t think people wanna put lots of effort into a game that is going down. Myabe if this had been proposed much earlier that peolple would have done it…
