Thats why I still think people should have tested etqw’s promod
With basically a ton of options to setup everything the way you want, heck you could even do a plain vanilla setup iirc (except maybe for the vehicle spawntime, I dont remember).
Usually people who complain about how it removes stuffs from the game are people that almost never tested promod, you need to try it first, the level is usually quite higher so many ragequit, but its becoming cool once you’re accustomed to it.
Regarding the BC2 “promod” (wont talk bout CoD as I dont play this game), yeah I’ll agree that removing revives medpack ammo pack etc… can seems plain stupid and YES it removes some strong aspects of the game, but dont you think that if these packs werent overpowered in the first place (yeah I’ll camp that healthpack for ages), and the same apply with the infinite medic chain revive, the promod guy would have kept them?
I’ll agree that they could have tryed to fix these mechanics rather than remove them completely… But I’m not sure they got that many access on the source code to do it.
To sum it up and as Bridger said: if the game is broken in the first place (hear some overpowered features), the “promod” of this game will be indeed broken and frustrating, ETQW is the perfect exemple of the contrary (IMO), with the promod changing just some minors stuffs, all the major changes came from restrictions in classes / weapons / vehicles / turrets to adapt the game for a smaller number of players.
