Hello peeps

It’s been a long wait, but WOO, I’ve just received my copy of Quake Wars!! I knew being from Australia has some advantages. We’re a bit ahead of you lot when it comes to time Its like midday, the 28th here right now.

Honestly, I’ve been heavily anticipating this game for years, as I imagine most of you have, so I know you can understand my excitement at the moment! I’ve been grabbing every video footage I could find over the years from all the E3’s and Quakecons, analizing and inspecting every bit of video, screenshot, magazine scan released etc. It’s been a bit of a journey! I’ve always been a huge fan of Wolf:ET, and have plenty of great memories playing on maps like Gold Rush, and Fuel Depot. I love the Quake Wars demo, and I’m hoping to have many great moments with the full game!

I’m installing the game now, and I’m wearing the dog tag as well There’s a nice little card sheet which shows the keyboard shortcuts (never read about this anywhere) as well as the cards, and manual. I don’t think I got a poster though This is the collectors edition, btw.

I guess this thread would be a good place to post that you got the game too so we have it all in one place, eh! Congratulations to the Splash Damage team, hope you’re all rested and working on the next game already… </joke> lol…

Sounds great, man I wish I could say the same. What else does the Collector’s Edition come with that wasn’t announce, like the dog tags? I definitely didn’t know about those.

I’m in the U.S. plus I preordered a Collector’s Edition and have to wait for it to come through the mail… it might be a full week from now before I can play the game. :!:

Yeh you get the cards and the bonus DVD. Man some of the maps are awesome. My favourite is the one where Strogg have to get 3 fuel cells and return them to the crashed ship. It’s sorta makes the game a bit more open and less linear I suppose. Oh, and the slipgate (on another map) looks awesome

Playing a series of ETQW retail maps is like listening to a collection of favorite songs that you have put together. Whenever a new map/song loads, I think to myself: “THIS is the best one”. And I do it for each new song/map that loads.

Today in the morning FINALLY received my ETQW copies. Didn’t go to work because of that! :evil: Took @ work 2 week holidays just because of two things - ETQW & Halo 3 ^^

And I’m pretty sure that the man from the picture below is to blame it for the long delays bringing ET:QW to Latvia :o
