It wasn’t meant for you personally, my apologies if you have taken it this way, but the thread is 1 week old… And for a trolling thread usually it’s far enough. Plus saying a guy you don’t know that he’s a problem, well…

But, at least, a come back. Now it turns a bit “personal” (Quickly seen “ego” with “huge”). And yes, there could be out of there “bad” servers, but if they were as bad as said I dunno how they’re still online. If the admins pay their servers to be like this, hu, avoid. As said, the trackers are now tweaked to exclude fake servers, and you can easily browse the best places on these.

And after all it’s a free game… The anticheat is gone, the source code is released, still followed by SD (Thanks again for master-server issues solved quickly), and I’m quite happy since 2006 with less than 10 servers. Don’t focus on bad, seek good, and you’ll be happy in the best of da world. Let the tyranic selfish admins on their own :wink:

Actually, it is not NOW that it is getting personal (with post #18). Accusing someone to be a troll is where it started (between me and him). I = troll, he = bla, easy bill …

I’ve found some game not really fine, not a reason to go on dev forums and they “You’re game is *** because” :confused:

Reading is good skill to have, i did not say the game itself is ***, i said it is beeing made that way by the community. Read, think, or be quite.

You can as well think about which “community” you’re talking about, I’m not sure you’ll find here the kind of people you’re talking about :slight_smile:

And it’s not the whole game which is “broke as ****”, but few servers… Haven’t found one yet.

He has a point to be honest, the main reason I stopped playing was due to the all the paks with mini mods, either UI, sound or texture, they are all silly.

I’m not against the little fun pack sounds, or the special events packs (Halloween, Christmas), but the ones modifying the UI, the ones which abuse of texture replacement (The ones downloaded by clients, so I excluded HDET from the point of view for example), the over400megs packs… When I was looking for one or two servers I just disconnected. They’re usually the ones with 12o12 bots as well… I don’t know the % of servers like this, I’m sure some people will not be afraid of giving some number for this.

Somebody can make a mod with the Source feature which let download all server custom packs, or exclude audio stuff, or excluded everything (Sadly maps as well…).

The only annoying thing about servers are all the fake server. The packs are absolutely fine, people can put whatever they like on their server if I don’t like it I just won’t play there…

Saying you quit ET because of all the paks on servers is just ridiculous. I highly doubt that EVERY single server in ET was running custom stuff.

The game is in a horrible state after evenbalance decided to take a dump on it. Most populated servers have at least one wallhacker.

It was before already in a bad state, but indeed after EB decided to turn PB off it got even worse.

Cod4Fun is in many, but not all points, right. All the fake servers, overloaded spammy and partly scammy menu pak files, redirects to other servers and a going war between server admins who controls the most populated server with the most humans on it.

Aside the dropped PB support and engine exploits…

ET today isn’t enjoyable anymore, it’s dead. My last hope for a resurrection is if at all ET-XreaL in combination with TZAC or something similar.
