The future of Brink: DLC's
Haha, Really?
I sold that game a month ago because they didnt pay attention to PC or PS3.
I thought the game actually sold for 60 bucks, now theyre making maps the same price as the original. Screw Activision.
Slight exaggeration, it’s $15 for 4 maps and 1 zombie map. Still ridiculous though…

(Nail) #162

ooopsie, need to wear my reading glasses more, I saw an ad for the DLC, it was beside a pic of the game which was priced $59. But it’s still exclusive to XBL subscribers for the first month. Farg that crap

(DepressedOptimist) #163

Red Dead’s Undead Collection was the only thing I could see as constituting an expansion pack in a long time.

I’ve never paid for any map pack. If a multiplayer game is starting to get stagnant, a change of scenery isn’t the only answer.

I don’t see any map packs working with brink unless they have some way of working in “After the Resolution” missions.

(H0RSE) #164

They could just release bonus missions that have nothing to do with the main story, like the Reactor map from E3.

(Damblo) #165

Yep or like borderlands, and move you onto a completely different un explored area (such as zombie island of dr ned)

P.s, any one heard news about more borderlands dlc? i freakin love that game

my guess’d be they’re done. since the GOTY edition just got out. sad but most likely. on the other hand, 4 DLC is quite much they pushed out…
anyhow maybe they may have something more, its just a hunch of mine…

I heard Gearbox pushed the DLC onto another studio, so they could concentrate on Duke Nukem.

(LyndonL) #168

I read on Kotaku that B’Lands DLC is all over  - It was getting stale anyway.

(Damblo) #169

Borderlands 2 anyone?

(Mad Hatter) #170

Oh God, a Borderlands 2 announcement might be the only thing that could take my mind off of Brink. Borderlands wasn’t perfect, but nothing I’ve played since has been even close to as much fun as Borderlands was. So if they make a sequel that’s even bigger, and learns from the few mistakes of its predecessor, I might just explode with gaming glee.

I want multiple people to be able to play online it was weird that you couldn’t splitscreen online or LAN, also I hate people who use the “ultimate” weapons and shields, I want to have fun blowing crap up but i also want to have a challenge

(THEJORRRG) #172

I shall say this as I say for all multiplayer games.
I WANT A MAP MAKER!
Thank you.

Christ, I hope you pay lip service  for that price too

Back to the topic of Brink…

Wtf people, why are people saying they don’t want more maps or new guns? this games needs both of those. I absolutely LOVE this game but I think a few more maps, some new weapons to unlock and some more appearance choices would be just what the game needs.

I really want to see some more weapons added in a pack but i want these weapons to not all come unlocked like the original, I want to have to unlock weapons not just be handed 30 to pick from (yes I know there are unlocked weapons but very few). Also some more what if maps like reactor would be cool by me, the maps don’t have to fit the story perfect as we already have a campaign that feels complete IMO. I also want some more appearance choices as what we have is good but it’s really just like 8 sets that you can mix and match and to me thats not as much customization as I would like. Splash Damage has done a great job with this game so lets just get some dlc that fits perfectly with it and just gives more of the same great stuff.

(roninrush) #176

More Maps
More Outfits (including MORE tattoos and facepaint with more colors)
Female character choice in Campaign and MP (if thats possible to do)
New Guns / More Guns (with camouflage choices and improved performance in stats for some of them)
More Abilities/ Skills
Different kinds of Co-op Game modes

also what i noticed too is that once you have picked out your tattoo, face and voice
you can’t go back and change it. You have to make a whole new character if you want it different. It’d be cool if we could go back and change all of that without starting a whole new character from scratch.

i’m willing to pay for any of this DLC addons. I really like this game and i want it to really be good and outshine other shooter games. Everyone likes to have more choices in whether it be picking they’re guns, customizing their character or whatever. I really want to see BRINK totally capitalize on that. I think just in general adding other kinds of game-modes and maps will keep playing BRINK fresh to players. if they don’t add more outfits it’ll still be fun to play, i just would like to see DLC for everything that the game has to offer. Games that add more content last a lot longer in replay-ability and that keeps it refreshing as well as keeps things interesting as well. all this stuff doesn’t have to come all at once of course, but i think they’d definitely be good additions to the game.

I’d like TDM actually but more of a mini game then a full game mode, something eventually created with the SDK, somewhere where I can train my aim out that isn’t against bots or teammates/objectives that I need to babysit.

(Broo20) #178

I’d really like some new missions.

(Jess Alon) #179
I personally hate map pack DLC… take a look at TF2. There are so many maps in the game but people play like what 4 or 5 of those 30-40 maps they got. They even said in their director’s commentary that they didn’t want to make a huge number of maps since many of them went unplayable and people tend to stick to a few maps.

On the topic of Weapon DLC I say if they are just new versions of existing weapons without any differences I would be willing to accept that. Again take TF2’s weapon updates, they release so many different weapons with every update it seems. When you play TF2 it’s almost impossible to tell the difference between the weapons and what special quirky power that weapon has. So again if DLCs were weapons where just new models/skins for existing models I would be much better than quirky new weapons.
I really don’t understand why people want weapons already. The game has a nice assortment of weapons already that do the job. If you added a weapon though I’d like a slow firing high powered heavy weapon. Just for the challenge factor.

In addition I love all of the maps in the games. I gotta give the map designers credit. I think that Splash Damage would get attention from all over the gaming community if they released free DLC that added to everything. Skins for weapons. Outfits. Maps. Maybe a couple challenges that unlock some new attachments. And of course levels with some creative objectives. Splash Damage surprises me with their commitment to excellence in spite of haters.

(Jess Alon) #180

Because they couldn’t have missions that are interjected between the current missions. Stuff that’s happening on the ark in other places.
