The full potential of Brink still a mystery?

Right. I would just think at this point in time there would be a guy at Splash Damage who knows the maps and has played the game for like a hundred hours who they would give a controller to and would just show us 2 minutes of him jumping, vaulting, climbing all over the map with ease.

But no, we get vids on “your health regenerates!” and “medics can help heal people.” The only traversal vids we see are a year old, and doesn’t look that appealing. Here’s me honestly, truly hoping that a few days before release, they drop a video like I described above, and I insta-buy, because yo, I totally will. I don’t want to dislike this game. I’m just iffy at the moment. I feel like they’re hiding something.

Someone at SD pick a Light Body type and just go nuts around a map. Show us the potential of Brink! This is what differentiates Brink from other shooters with a limited movement system so having a video of SD tearing the maps up with SMART would be the most popular video yet. Guaranteed.

i think they want to keep some surprises. i agree I’m pining for vids like everyone else but I’d rather just have the game and go nuts myself!

In all fairness they have done videos on the smart system and shown us a couple of moves in container city so just look at them trailers but then again they havent inlcueded alot of the moves you can pull off

I think it looks like a must have game but thats my opinion

I agree I’m hoping that there are some “moves” you can do that they haven’t shown like I’ve seen from third person that you can jump and slide on your back while firing but wall flips and stuff would be pretty awesome. either way I have purchased it already. in all of the vids they seemed to be mostly using the medium body types I’m sure the light body type can do alot more, and faster.

i do hope that is included in the game but yeah ive pre-ordered it and nothing is changing my mind atm anything can beat CoD Black Ops and i defenitily think this is the game to beat it and maybe in a year from now (well 13th may) there will be a brink 2 !!!

Flips don’t bear any practical use. I must say the backward slide sounds interesting, probably difficult to implement, you need to sprint forward to build up momentum, then jump, turn 180 degrees and crouch. There’s an awful lot that could go wrong and the system will probably misinterpret what you want to do most of the time. So although fun it doesn’t seem very practical.

I agree but mayeb all you have to do is run backwards whilst looking down maybe? Because when your running forward and look down you slide (obv with the SMART button on)

But yh we’ll just have to see when the game comes out have a little experement with the controls

People do this in games already… especially quake and unreal… the only difference would be you would slide when you hit the ground rather than land on your feet.( and in quake 4,read idtech4, you would crouch slide)
