THE ET COMMUNITY BIGGEST QUESTION

(joss) #1

ET community has mainly 2 points of view infront to the ET:QW release.

1st: ET:QW is gonna be BF like (big maps, vehicles, and not fully aim-movement based like RTCW:ET (aim, jump, strafe, freedom of movement…)

2nd: ET:QW isnt gonna be BF like because big maps and vehicles can be used with the RTCW:ET style. Aim style will be the same, and tj’s and movement will remain.

What do you think? For sure, if its gonna be BF like the most of ET gamers wont play it, I hope not

i think that you got too many BFs in there

something in between

I think u should run before u get lynched.

I myself am of the firm opinion that QW will be very little like BF. If u really want to know all the details of the game and even play it, trek to the Himalayans and seek out the tapir’s. They know all about QW and even have the first released copy.

(AKA Sneaky) #5

Quake players vs. The universe (the punch).

(Carwash) #6

Cant comment on the feel/ movement of the players, but the game itself looks like its W:ET , but with player controllable vehicles.

The only similarity to BF is that the maps are large and you can play as INF or in a vehicle and its an FPS

Anyone who took time to do some research about the game will know that it is not at all like battlefield.

But instead of doing research yourself I guess you can just register at the forums and ask silly questions so others will do the work for you

And why, for whatever sake, a game whit infantry + vehicles must be “battlefield style”???
Even bf must have copied this formula from previous games, i guess…or maybe, we can call every FPS “wolfenstein3d style” only because you run around a map whit a gun in front of you?? can we??

Lies, this is the biggest question:

DID YOU HAVE TO USE CAPS??

(Joe999) #11

no, because “they pretty much defined this type of genre”. if only i knew where i’ve seen that on youtube. was some stupid presentation vid. link must be hidden here somewhere in ze forum

(Ifurita) #12

For what it’s worth, I’m pretty sure I was playing Tribes before RTCW came out. If I recall correctly, they had vehicles too.

Even if it isnt like W:ET, you need to realise that there will be thousands of competivie W:ET players swarming arround ET:QW, they will push mod makers to make it more like W:ET by removing any trash features, and in the end it will be a lot like W:ET but then with better graphics and a new theme.

(SKaREO) #16

I just hope its fun to play in the public servers, that’s all I play games like this for. Either its a public server gore fest, or it sucks. No one plays seriously when they are in a pub mindlessly killing the enemy, so serious game play will hold everyone back in this title. I sure didn’t come back to ET for a competitive clan match or anything, this is not the type of game for serious competition, IMO. I don’t see any $200,000 tournaments opening up for ET in the near future.

This really annoys me, W:ET mod communities wont be only ones producing mods for ET:QW.
You also need to realise that their wont only be thousands of competitive W:ET players rushing to get he game, but also thousands of competitive players from other games and Battlefield player will be among them.

So really it could go in any direction with mods, but because it will have stats i can see majority of people not playing mods as much as they would play stock standard ET:QW.

Also i think there are people comparing it to Battlefield because battlefield has a wide range of vehicles and also more up to date graphics than W:ET, at the same time people are comparing it to W:ET because of the objective type game play so really it is a cross between. Taking the best things from both games and making one completely awesome game.

it will be fun to see witch community that will adapt best to et:qw , i dont even think it will matter what game you have played before. Some will have a headstart , but i dont think that will last longer than 1 month.

(BondyBoy007) #19

I think you’ll be suprised by the level of co-ordination/serious game play that goes on in some public ET servers ATM.

(joss) #20

replying to the intelligent comments, and not at all to the retards, 1st i have to say that i’ve been playing since RTCW came out in highskilled competitions, and im enough informed about ETQW since i’ve readed lots of reviews, enterviews and stuff. The point is, that ET is atm a pure competitive game, and publics are just for newbies. If ETQW is gonna be like that it will dissapoint the competitive ET comunity. I just hope they have made a nice work in the competitive part, following the RTCW:ET spirit.
