The Biggest Rage Thread So Far...

I honestly think that Objective mode should be played on maps like the original London Bridge and the full length Train Yard.

Yes

I cannot wait for next year if this game does well and we start seeing Tokyo, New York or South American based maps. After all its hard to imagine that if the game does well you would be limiting yourself to a single city…

London is a restrictive choice…need to go outside London (now) …anything possible with a story reason

The gameplay is fast and that means that lots of deaths are bound to happen. This means respawn times have to be quite short and the gamemodes mean that your playing for a fair amount of time.

My thougth is spawm time must be relative to match duration …Short match duration =shorter spawn time

I feel like SD are all stuck, like magnet to their Monitors and just doing their things …and they all stopped thinking about doing that Epic game ,fundation is there but game concept its not completed ,missing parts to level out of the generic stage …would be sad to be so close to it and didn’t make it :frowning:
Worked for comp not for pub, and you need both.
That’s why we need bigger maps in Objective mode made for 8v8, and maybe a scale around the actual one (or a bit bigger) for SW and match. Same layout with restricted routes (like they did in Rush / squad rush for BF3) both modes becoming really unique.
I have to disagree, Bom. The maps that worked in RTCW and ET competition worked great with 8 vs. 8 and larger. Even the bigger, more pub friendly maps were very simple in terms of layout. Look at Fuel Dump - big sprawling map but very predictable with few routes. I think that’s the key point - predictability. What we have now is more similar to the rabbit warren type maps you get in CoD and BF, with bullets coming in from all angles/heights, tiny paths, hiding spots. They’re not predictable and there’s no obvious places for teams to set up and defend. Positioning plays a lesser roll as encounters are pretty much a free for all.

For objective mode, DB need an epic scale map.
i think of last Valley Object-kind of scale.

 1. Big Bridge over Thames. with forward spawn. and with side obj-boat.
 2. Big building with vertical gameplay and large are before the building
 3. Big amount of corridors inside the building.

or EVEN two last objects from Valley

How do you feel guys about going back to alpha ? Imho this is what the game needs.

(Kl3ppy) #45

Imo the game never should have gone CB. Big changes were made in the CB, imo they should have take place during alpha. But well, since nexon is on board, the game did take a couple of steps back.

(Glottis-3D) #46

+1 but not a chance

(RasteRayzeR) #47

A reboot would actually put the game back into alpha. I’m not saying this is what should be done, hell I have no idea what SD should do and this is not my place to say. I see maps not working, players fleeing the current state of the game and a lot of incoming game-changing features in the future.

Between the lines I read “we are redefining the game once more”. Maybe putting a stop to the patch-working of features in the game, clearly redefine the concepts by taking the community’s input as an orientation (and SD’s ideas for the game itself) would actually save this game.

In any cases I will support as best as I can the devs, whatever direction they choose to go in the end.

et 8v8 maps were as example oasis and fueldump. they were relativly big , but the main difference was they were open.same about radar .the maps are currently full of stuff and you nearly have no positions to buil.d a crossfire.
waterloo 2nd part would be less chaotic without 20 hide positions and a way to build a good crosssfire for defence.

agree

the game is close for CBTrelease in RU (rumors have it)
and we have like 25000+ ppl waiting for it.

i think there is no turning back now. those guys wait since may to play the game.

Better disappoint by pushing further a dev. deadline than once the game is published.

(stealth6) #51

Just let SD finish this already, team up with Nexon Asia, make the game Pay to Win, roll in money and then make a new game that we might like.

(tokamak) #52

I hope everyone’s gotten it out of their system by now because this game is the one chance SD has for full creative autonomy.

(montheponies) #53

As much as I complain, I would say that I choose to play DB pretty much every night, that’s instead of playing BF, COD or Titanfall. I may be in the minority, but sometimes I think we go overboard with how bad things are… fix core game elements - the maps and spawntimes and take it from there (I’d also default FF on as I think it’s core to balancing).

Either way I enjoy the game more than any other available to me at the moment, which is probably more of a damning indictment of the state of games in general than anything else.

(attack) #54

about dome. i think the airfield one of the first objectives is pretty ok. maybe we should play some matches with this side only.if you fix the way too it a little bit(closer spawn…),it could be a cool defence point.there are cool buildings for the defenders to set up a defence and not too many routes for attackers.

ok
smbdy is up tonight to try this?(we have to set some rules like defenders arent allowed to push too far out of the airfield and some other small stuff)
this way we also can try if simple maps would be a better way to go!

I pop on almost every night and see if people are playing… I do enjoy playing when everything is working right… Forget all the QQing I have been doing about FPS loss last night it was 3 v 3 in USA East and people were animation glitching against walls or something. I posted a video in the bugs… What was really bad was hit and kill lag… I am used to it on euro servers but I would actually pull the trigger and run away and as I turn to run I would get the kill… I just did that for fun so I could see the delay… I had 60 ping I was like wow; I’m going to record this quick animation glitch and then I am out…

8 or 9 days ago I could try to get close to 100 kills in a SW map and even piss inferno off in a sniper war but now I do not know what changed but the game feels broke…

(prophett) #56

Something weird happened a couple of patches ago that may or may not be DB related.

I used to always ping 120-140 to Euro servers now I am pinging 160-180. I believe I heard Spookify and maybe Inferno mention it as well

For me it’s the same, that’s because it’s faster and feels better gameplay-wise than most other shooters. But without good maps it won’t be able to sustain the game and make players come back.

(spookify) #58

Once SD introduces a ranking system, ladder play, matches and level up and basically any type of ranking people will come!

Like I said before my friends and their friends played D3 Ladder Ranking, they are addicted to LOL ranked games, addicted to wow for some reason and some new game where they make farms and raid for wood… They were never really into pubbing ET however we played Matches… Combine pubbing into ranked SW games and this game will be crazy!!! I mean CRAZY!! I couldnt imagine an LOL style rank in a FPS game!!! I would never sleep!!!

Keep tweaking the maps we have a ton of good suggestions on how to make them better! Maps are the hardest and slowest to change but keep working! More exciting aspects of the maps also…

Look at the example of LOL where a diamond 5 or platinum comes in and can carry the match! The high skill ceiling of DB should be the same way… Even if someone /quits and its 6v5 that much better player might keep it even… That’s what I want to see.

I think it was a month or so ago, but I get my normal 168ping currently. Servers are definitely not as smooth though and there’s a lot of clientside stuttering.

168!! You out west?
