There’re not many games i enjoy as a whole, i really enjoy this community, the total surrounding ambiance this and previous game releases brought is great, therefore I would buy such a Limited Edition Box even for that ‘special’ price

(LeVortex) #24

if there would come a se with arthwork or posters or something i would buy it

One DVD? 12 announced maps x 6GB megatexture x 0.3 RAR compression.

(ParanoiD) #26

You forgot DVD3:

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory Gold Edition:
FUll setup of W:ET with patch 2.60 and all custom maps available by then. Also all mods pre-installed.

(eRRoLfLyNN) #27

And 6 new official maps for W:ET

(Fusen) #28

no, don’t make it a dvd! I still don’t have a dvd drive lol

(Nail) #29

that’s ok, it’ll just be 40 cd’s for you then

(ElderNewb) #30

you can’t be short of £30 fusen surely?
I’m starting to imagine LOTR Special Ed style packaging here

(LeVortex) #31

Hmm i think if you want to play ET:QW that you will need a dvd-rom, because the game will probally around 4 gigs

(Fusen) #32

why waste 30 quid when the next gen disc is just around the corner suposedly lol

I’m gonna not buy a bluray drive or hd dvd aswell and then get the next gen disc

it’s a master plan to never pay for anything ;D

(ElderNewb) #33

except ETQW

I would definitely drop dime on a nice collector’s box for ETQW. The Warcraft box sets have been things of beauty worth every penny. Hell I don’t even like Warcraft and I bought them, LOL.

Just don’t make it a crappy box ala Half Life 2.

Cheap ass box, lame tiny 3 x 5 prima book and a crappy quality tshirt with a crappy printing job (I’ve worn it like 10 x and the print is barely there anymore). It made the tin edition fad, which was also incredibly lame, seem brilliant. This is especially intolerable considering the goddamn thing was like $25 more than the regular version of the game. Nothing is worse than offering a premium edition and some ****bag suit screws it up to save a couple of bucks.

just wanted to chime in and note that i’d buy an art book for this game. Since the screenshots so far surpass any other game i’m aware of, i’m sure the concept art must be worth checking out.

With game/movie art books I mostly pay to see what ideas were passed by, as well as judging how well stylized paintings ended up translating to 3d models and gameplay mood. Those two factors are what make me want to have a book on my shelf for reference or inspiration (as opposed to a single library rental or skim at the book store).

Agree with Shallow that I’d prefer ridiculous/obsessive/embarassing details and insights in any text or explanations. I find it extremely annoying to see an art book that just barfs up vague text to fill space. (i’m guessing this is done so that industry outsiders can approach the work, or something. But it just feels like a slap in the face for taking the time to look past the pictures).

To ensure sales, what about combining the art work for all the games based off this engine? (i’m picturing a giant hard bound treasure like the matrix art book, with a section for DOOM3, D3:RoE, Quake4, and ET:QW). Just a random thought. Dunno how tight all the dev groups are, or how much art there is to consider. But you’d rope in the fans of each game, yes?
I’d drop 80 bucks or more for a definitive insight into all the artists working on the cutting edge of FPS gaming.
