that team balance tho..

(Jostabeere) #41

Well if you enjoy being spawnraped, go ahead. Most people, including me don’t. I don’t enjoy them on both sides. I always change teams if I see my enemies are 2 players less, even if it’s already halfway into a round.
A hypothetical question. Why should I leave a game, have a progress, mission and credits loss, a loading time, the time to find a new game, another loading time and a deploying time instead of some people press F1 on a shuffle vote?
It might be just me, but it seems being a competitive pro really makes one inhuman sometimes.
Apologies…This discussion was supposed to be funny .

Does my score look like i was having a hard time ?
Though my team members where so disappointed about about the match and the game itself.

I’m not saying that the lvl 2 , 6 and 7s where noobs or weaker than the lvl 50s and 40s .
Infact i’m proud that we holded for more than 5 mins .

Usually lvl balances like this end up in Spawn killing. But since we were on the defending team , it wasn’t so horrible .

But the amount of high levels stacking on the enemy team on the scoreboard seemed pretty funny . Not to mention @ThunderPro alone can destroy any good ‘balanced’ team xD . And its disappointing that 3 or 4 shuffle votes were disqualified even though we had sensible friends on the other team.

And I’m not a guy who looks for balance all the time . If i wanted a fair game , i have my own team to play Competitive or even a ‘Min lvl-10’ server would suffice .

@Kingsley
Apparently you are the only one whining so much here ^^
And how did you managed to get that iron bars on your profile image ?

I just don’t get it. Must be a generational thing.

I’ve played FPS games for 10+ years and never EVER complained about balancing.

You win some. You lose some.

Just beat up some toddlers. Hopefully they learn from the beating and get better.

Well i do wonder how matchmaking really works in this game. Because it seems to just throw you into a match with anyone then take the time and what not. Well besides ranked, Now those are matching heaven most the time .

(MarsRover) #46

There is no matchmaking. Quickjoin picks a few random servers, checks ping and joins you to one. AFAIK it doesn’t even try to keep new players on max lvl5 servers.

I may be wrong because I don’t use quickjoin and I don’t have time to create a smurf to test the max lvl5 server thing.

I just played on a regular 6 vs 6 objective server.

We weren’t able to repair the EV (Chapel) and were locked in.
At some point of time it was 6 vs 4 and guess what.
Nobody would switch over. Simply nobody.
A shuffle obviously didn’t pass either.
At the end they even laughed at us for stomping.

I’ve nominated them for being the biggest dicks in the world.

@Kirays
Its even more helarious when they say “gg” at the end .

(Ballto) #49

step 1: Stop whining and get good instead of trying to get carried by better players.
Step 2: Profit

(yes i read the op this is a message to people who spam shuffles)

(FalC_16) #50

to those who moan about balance: If you get nailed to your respawn, don’t rage quit. Keep calm. You may get a dickens case afterwards. Like I did.

The idea is not to have perfect balanced teams. A good system is in place to get the teams so that teams are balanced at least 50% of the time. A balanced game is more fun for both attackers and defenders. Having too many games of unbalanced matches will teach people to start browsing for games where they will stomp to play. It always drains a lot of players interest in game rapidly. Sure there will be matches where stomp happens but the system is suppose to it somewhat balanced for all the players resulting in a more enjoyable experience.
The core thing in gaming is to have fun. You can tell people to suck it up but hey it is a game. It is there to for people to have fun. A more balanced system will draw more players and hopefully construct a better community for all.

Sorry, I just noticed this comment…

I didn’t visit the forum for a while, busy practicing medic.

As all of these team balance problems are always ignited, I have to admit one thing as high level, or typical ASIA server pub stomper.(Well I played with you a lot too.)

I do remember that game, and not just the game you put on but I almost always press F1 for fair games. I did press F1 at that game too.

what @fubar said, and you said is both right.

Like fubar mentioned, there are whiners who consistently whine about balance when the game is about to start(only look over the levels and whining), or about to end(being salty about losing).

Yes, it is true the more your team is underwhelming, you have to try hard for yourself, AND also for your contribution to team.

But the thing is, the reason why people whine about balance is because there IS really a problem at balancing, especially the team switching and team with leavers having huge disadvantage.

I’ve seen A LOT of team switching among high levels, clans, etc.(for example, 666 clan’s QAQ, XanNiArT stacking)

Yes, you can evade your responsibility by saying ‘I was just trying to play with friends, what’s wrong?’ or ‘You are stomped because you are bad skilled player. git gud.’

But, I gotta say this is very harmful to the game itself.

Main reason why this happens, is because there is no restriction about abandoning game, or team switching, or less strict level division, but first of all,

No one in the game wants to be stomped.

I’m not talking about losing, but STOMPED.

Like this : http://i.imgur.com/UGBPygG.jpg

I felt really sorry to all those low levels. I tried shuffle, but my team mates didn’t want to lose, so they pressed F2. Problem is, my team mates are right too.

except those nuts whining about losing, complaining about this seems very right.

Well all of you high skilled players may hear this as ‘you have to suffer with low levels for balance’, but in my opinion, this is much better for this game’s future.

This is just my opinion, and other high skilled players can still choose to stomp, but I would rather shuffle, or switch team to losing side, go against stacked high level team even if I’m going to lose.

So, this would be a balanced game.

Everybody in DB wants this kind of game, not like the first one. that’s all.

Honestly, rather enjoy killing and getting all those badges all the time by killing low skilled players, if you really want to improve your skills or test how good you are, play with same or higher skilled player.

I am saying this to all those high levels in DB.

‘Is level a right criteria for balance?’ might be related to this, but I will talk about this later.

(Amerika) #53

Considering how many high levels I play with/against you’d be punishing them and their team if balance was done by levels alone. They can’t carry and the system would basically guarantee their team would get stomped because they can’t. Currently the system forces people with crazy high pub elo ratings to carry which means their team still might get stomped if there are too many competent players on the other team. Which also leads to stomps.

I wrote up something on the SD forums that I think would be the only possible way for a system to be somewhat smart enough to sort teams and reduce the amount of balance or perceived balance issues people have.

(Sir_Slam) #54

There’s a difference between having to carry a team every now and then (we’ve all been on both sides of the equation, it happens), and getting stuck with people who literally don’t even know how to play the game. You can guess which of the two I find in comp matches.

Missing a shot or throwing a bad air strike is ok. It happens.

Being our team’s second phantom in a 5v5 is not. Being the third person trying to repair the ev is not ok. A team full of 4 skyhammers and one really agitated Bushwhacker (me) is not fucking ok, especially when I still can’t get ammo out of a single one of them. That wasn’t a fun match.

I don’t care about norms. They’re norms. Dick around all you want, it’s what they’re for. But calling people entitled because they expect people to not eat paint chips makes you look like an asshole.
