terrain + no texture help plz :(

can some one help me plz… i dunno whats wrong… ive followed the instructions and stuff… but i just cant seem 2 get it 2 work :(. Ive been trying 2 do a little test terrain map with a building and some watter but this is all i get.

heres a little bit of my shader file, wich i have in my etmain/scripts.
and my texture folder is etmain/textures/

You need to add your shader to shaderlist.txt.

shaderlist.txt is in the scripts directory and is a list of shader files
to be used by radiant and q3map2. Whenever you create a new shader file, you MUST add it to shaderlist.txt

just did that m8… recompiled the map… same errors and looks the same in game :frowning: dam things makin me do this :banghead:

I have the same problem but I am working on two PC’s
the one I made the terain on the map looks correct.
then I copyed it to another pc to work on it some more and the texture was hosed.
it has to be missing files or something like that.

well ive had nothin g but problems when installing radent. everytimes somethings wrong… txtures are missing(white), q3map.exe crashes out alldays, textures in wrong places blabla it seems this is the first time ive had it working correctly but now its just not showing any textures after compilling :banghead: but if i dont use any terrain it seems 2 be fine :(. i hope i can figure this dam thing out or maby get some help before i just give up. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

well there’s definitely a shader missing, how did you make your terrain? did you use easygen - if so then are you sure you exported your metashader?

Look at the ET terrain shaders for a proper example of how to set them up.

The shader you’re using is an old-style vertex lit terrain. ET supports a bit more… :slight_smile:

I had just the same problem you a week ago, problem is I don’t remember what I did to get mine working. I created a thread though for it if you would like to take a gander.

I tried making the shader for you. Its an edited version of the one I use. Hopefully it will work :confused:

I tryed that m8 just got the same problem. :frowning:
btw dose anyone elses radent sometimes load with white textures?? or sometimes crashing when bsp? Mine is driving me nuttiy and ive reinstalled it so many times just 2 get it working right. its the only program i seem 2 have problems running. And i realy realy wanna get in to map making 2 :(. am useing the ET version of it.

ok i reinstalled my radent and made a new terrain to test… i now get my sky,watter but still have the squares on my terrain. anyone anyidears??
could anyone that has it working tell me there install paths just incase mine are wrong or something :(.

am just about to give up on this crap :(. I also get alot of crashes druing bsp i have 2 do all the options in the bsp tab from the lowest to the top one after another just so it dosnt crash :banghead: . Anyone got anyidears :frowning:

I’ve never done that while testing terrain maps and the maps compiled successfull, terrain showed up :wink:

  1. dj8sad7 what dimensions have you choosen for your terrain?
  2. if you’re using easygen have you got the ET metashader templates that I’ve created?

Yer i got them last night and tryed agein. maby my file paths are wrong?!?!
here my paths

game = C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory
gtk radent = C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant
Easygen = C:\Program Files\EasyGen_v142

my radent is pointing to “C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain” and this seems 2 be fine as i get texures and stuff when im not using terrain.

my easygen *.pcx files are also pointing to “C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/” and my shader files are pointing to “C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\scripts”. For my textures i just exstracted the texture folder and kept its file structure intact its here “C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain extures”
is all of that correct or do i have something pointing wrong somewere?

i did this tutorial and it was for rtcw so it’s probably outdated will have to make a new version then, at least i have to include the new templates, will take some time though as i’m quite busy at the moment
