shader common/terrain
i tryed that… same problem :(. Can anyone that has it working tell me there install paths?
ok i have the terrain shader in the scripts folder
and added it to the shaderlist.txt
i have my PCX for the terrain in my etmain folder
btw ur shader in the entities window should be called the same as the shader u are using, in ur map that would be
key is shader
value is ttest/terrain hope this helps
else show me a piccie of what u have in the worldspawn.
yer i forgot 2 say the plzwork was a diff map but just basicly the same (cuz i was trying out the new ET shaders for easygen.)
so the map was called plzwork so i think the discriptions is ok
i also have my paths the same as u… wonder what the problem is then :(.
Btw dose anyones radent act funny?? sometimes i start it al my textures are white. or some dont load and i crash on bsp if i try any meta ones
sorry to dig up an old thread but did u ever solve your no texture problem coz i got it too :???:
me three… I am probably missing something simple. I can always understand the complex stuff, but I always manage to get stuck on something really simple. Did this guy ever solve his problem?
i am also having this same problem. I have tried all the stuff I have seen on here: adding to shaderlist.txt, my paths are setup using the same logic as the other posters as well as the tutorials. I just get that damn orange grid covering the entire terrain. Anyone figure this one out yet? Thanks.

Well looks like in the same boat as a lots of you, i have the dreaded orange grid of despair.
When i compile my map which at the moment only consists of terrain and a sky box that easygen created. i have tried saving my textures that i used in every possible location. And the compiler always says can’t find shader blah blah blah. I followed various tutorials and none of them have helped.
I would like someone to tell me in clear terms where each of the files created by Easygen should go map shader and whatever, but also where to put the textures that you extract to use in easygen.
Please help i have trawled through all the threads relating to easygan and can’t find the right answer to my problems at all.
Here is the little I know:
Easygen creates 3 files: .pcx (alphamap), .shader (metashader) and .map
For me, I have to click the “…” button and actually save the .pcx and .shader files. It doesn’t do it for me automatically, even if the ‘save alphamap, etc’ boxes are checked. Make sure you have saved the Easygen file first - all the files will then use the main name, but just change the extension.
Place the files in:
.map in etmain/maps
.shader etmain/scripts
.pcx in etmain
(the way my easgen is set up, it doesn’t place my files in etmain/… It uses the same structure though .pcx in ‘main’, .map in maps and .shader in ‘scripts’ - so you might need to move the files to the correct wolfet directories).
Add your shader file name to shaderlist.txt in etmain/scripts
Also, in etmain/textures you might need a folder named the same as your map
Now load your map in Radiant and compile. Check the log file (press ‘n’ then choose the ‘console’ tab) Makes sure there are no errors like ‘couldn’t find xxx.shader’
Hope this helps
That sounds exactly what i wanted to hear clear and easy to follow i will try it now and let you know how it goes, can anyone point me in the direction of good thread regarding running your map in ET it just crashes when i press l at the mo.
Thanks alot much appreciated
