Teasing with event rewards...

(Feley) #21

Well I played my last event game now, as tomorrow I won’t be able to play… Got nothing!
I finished this painful cw era with buying regular CW case with last of mine 700 credits, and will be keeping it, because its closest I’ll get to CW card (that 0.3% of chance).

(Backuplight) #22

Lol, I love this. At least this way it’s not that you don’t have one… you might have one. Well played.

(SpinnerzNQ) #23

But they can give away two free elite cases and a free obsidian card, or hell, a free merc?

I wish you that in a year or so you open it and get the exact CW card you wanted!

Me, I couldn’t do that. That “1” on Barracks would drive me insane

Me neither. I was thinking about doing that but I thought I’d either open it in on accident or just look at it long enough for it to give me OCD and open it on purpose.

I know, I know, I’ll must learn to live with it :confounded:
Anyways Thanks  (If I’ll be playing it) in a year, on November 29th I’ll open it

13h, 120+ regular cases from credits, 5 CW elite from store = 0 cw loadouts

(cornJester) #28

You would have a point if we could buy CW elites and stand a good chance at getting what we want but many players are not getting anything they even remotely like, if they get anything at all, even if they spend money. That is not really cool for a limited edition thing, imo. People are upset because all they are going to have to show for this event, even if they spend money, can possibly be something they will never use or like or even nothing at all.

I’m going to be buying a 10 CW elite bundle tonight but I would have spent more money to be able to get a CW card I’d definitely like. The RNG is the reason many do not buy experts and elites more often. They could make more money by charging more to get the CW card you want.

Or for that matter letting us just pick the merc we want it for or blacklisting a certain gun, would take work but that would make people more willing to buy experts and elites I think.

(PinkFrog) #29

I know I’m frustrated and sad. It’s just a skin, I know. But it show’s you’ve been there. I got nothing to show for even after doing everything i can, really.

(triteCherry) #30

Wonder how many people would have not even bothered with the event if SD actually posted the drop rate of the cases?

(DMaster2) #31

Opened the 150 equipment cases i’ve saved, ofc i got not a single one cw loadout. 131 leads tho.
I’ll play a bit more tomorrow morning since i’m busy in the afternoon, but i won’t hold my breath.

I personally don’t care for cosmetics, but the lack of foresight or logic that went into handling the angry mob just baffles me.

When I first read that they were giving away a case per day, I completely, 100%, thought they were CW Elite cases to make up for the horrible, bewildering, low 0.3% chance… to my dismay it was only a vanilla expert case.

To the notion of people saying “f2p players can’t complain about not getting free stuff” I offer up the counter argument of the idea that this is still a beta. Almost all beta game’s are FREE to play. Beta testers are also sometimes paid, given free skins, a badge of honor, small simple crap that doesn’t make a difference but shows that the user was involved before most.

The CW event skins feel more like a pledge drive with two objectives, drive players to play and drum up some sales. But I just feel it failed. Something like “Every 200,000 XP gained gets you a guaranteed CW case” along with offering CW guaranteed cases for say, 2x or 3x the regular price would have been much better, much more rewarding.

It all boils down to, there are too many levels of RNG and far too little reward for playing (read: grinding). It’s random when they drop, its random what level of card you’ll get, its random what merc it will be for, its random what loadout it will be for. Grind for a month and IF and ONLY IF you get a CW skin it could be for phantom with a blish and stiletto…

“buy some cases” you say… spend real money on a silver card that you don’t want and could have easily traded up (and for a merc you want) for 70k credits or less…

ETA: $25 for a guaranteed chance at a RANDOM CW card… thats practically 1/2 the price of a full fledged AAA game that comes with all content unlocked… That’s pretty insulting.

Selling 10 completely random cards and 2 random CW cards for the same price as a NON BETA AAA title… Maybe I’m frugal, but I just can’t justify that after spending $40-45 already on starter packs, and other mercs.

man you speak out of my heart.

I really hate to see the world turning from “if you want stuff go ahead and pay for it” to “if you want stuff, pay for it, and you will see what you will get”.

And this not only happening here in DB, but also in real life. You pay for stuff which is not guaranteed… what the actual frack?

It’s quite interesting to see how an event with optional SKINS totally killed the common-sense of a giant amount of people.
It’s like Smeagol and his prescious ring, but with skins.

(Vinos) #35

The event isn’t just about the cases although they are very much desired and probably the primary attraction of the event by the majority of longtime players.
However, that is not a good reason to vehemently demand for some event rewards of which was known prior to the event that it would be distributed on a random basis.

To spell it out for you, in case you can’t contain yourself again, :R-A-N-D-O-M.

(srswizard) #36

While I don’t particularly care about skins, when there are so many other issues with the game, I still agree that the RNG is bad.
As long as there is no market for these cards, it’s ridiculous to expect people to gamble for a tiny chance at the optimal (+ flashy) card for their preferred merc.

That’s exactly the reason people are angry. It shouldn’t be random. If they gave everyone a cw case today to end the cw event, people would’ve been happy and they would’ve distributed less cw cases than they did with the random crap.

Still being upset about optional skins? You wont die if you didn’t get them but some people did so stop being so self-entitled please.
