I saw sprinting that looked like it is deactivating the weapon and when I would need to guess it will only work into the forward direction.
If that is the case and you didnāt think about that mechanic and how it slows down the game in comparison to W:ETās sprint bar/strafe jumping, please think about this mechanic.
Also, please no more holding magic button to do everything⦠Give the player control of his vision, his position while doing objectives. W:ET had a syringe you had to switch to to revive and reviving was done with a simple click and if you miss with the syringe, you had to wait a second. This involves skill and strategy because a medic could already have the syringe activated in some situations and you need to click in the right moment to revive, if you need to push into an area that has only a small corridor.
If you have areas where a class needs to construct something, make use of the area where the player needs to be, give him an option to try to hide a bit instead of a cutscene like behavior where the character is exactly in the predefined position doing X.
Full control was something that was awesome in W:ET.
Also, strafe jumps & jumps downhill had a good synergy to how the primary weapons worked best in W:ETās promod (relatively accurate spread (starting with very accurate with first bullets) + requirement to track the enemy instead of holding fire in the center of the enemyās body and pray to hit random headshots). Strafing made you faster, but an easier target (like strafing down the long downhill area at first tank barrier in Goldrush because axis can easily target you).
If I had to chose how I would like to have the game, I wouldnāt chose realism over gameplay. CoD does that and is the overhyped game you would have a hard time to beat it. W:ET has many unrealistic elements that are great for the playing experience⦠they didnāt make the game worse.
Also, mod-ability⦠casual and competitive play differs most of the time.
At last, if you make a PC game, make sure that you remember that the game is played with mouse and keyboard. Make appropriate controls and not a strange console -> PC controls port.
Art design looks fantastic. Make sure gameplay and usability feels good, too.
Thanks for reading my thoughts and advices.
