Teaser Trailer Discussion
Excuse bad weather, but over the brink. With all due respect, of course, for the work youāve put into Brink. I look forward to the rest of Quake Wars. Why with such a proven model which was QWET and so much expectation on the part of a lot of players on Quake Wars 2, combines with other things? Iām disappointed, and I had plenty brinku hope will finally lead to new, better and great Quake Wars 2
Some things Iāv noticed ā
- There is a class with a giant bag on his back and a light machine gun ā heavy bodytype (I wonder how the hitbox model for this guy work)
- Smallest Bodytype is a sniper (Girl sniper hitboxes? Small? We see only a male sniper)
- One of the factions in game is CDA āLies get you nowhereā - printed on the wall, its a police faction
- Female engineer with 2 mines on hips and a shotgun andā¦2 combat axes near her ass
- The final explosion was made by tank or ā¦camo IAV (escort mission)
- The guy at the begining of the video is probably a field ops with ammo packs
- There is a 2 dead masked male soldiers, u can see them just after girl eng (medics?)
- there is a strange emblem printed on walls and IAV , looks like reverse mitsubishi emblem (must be an emblem of a anti-rebel faction - CDA)
- 00:13 - 2 ammo crates scattered on the street;
- 00:17 SARGENT SKIPS face graffiti on the yellow dumpster - rebel leader?
11)00:22 left - CDA UPDATES - map (2 purple triangles, 1 blue triangle ~primary/secondary obj.?) - 00:36 - Thermal Vision
- 00:385 - Flash bang grenade or emp grenade;
14)00:39 - Heat Vision or 4 hacked cameras with heat-imaging;
15)00:40 - strafe hip fire; and a sniper shot from an elevated position (left);
16)00:41 - Cocktail Molotov, rocket fired from the street and 1 rocket fired from a building.
17)00:43 - Soldier with a communications gear, for drones or call in strikes?
18)0:51 - LCA SRV 82 (Specific Requirements Vehicle) destroying a CDA barricade. End map cutscene?
I loved SMART⦠though it could have used a lil polishā¦
the games problems were in the levels and lag.
and a bad start with a dwindling community.
Looks like Brink; but yet it says itās running on Unreal Engine.
I am guessing you guys dumped Id tech?
Well I guess itās gonna be awesome game. I now saw those ammo packs so i guess med packs will be there too, i wasnāt paying much attention at first. BrioCyrain look at the end of trailer, uāll see UnrealEngine logo
and yes SD said they will be using UnrealEngine for their other games.
RTCW > ET > Brink > ETQW
There you see what I did, introduced the fact that they arent unique. All three are derivatives of the RTCW, and none compare favourably to it.
:-)
Brink > QW? Whoās your drug dealer, he is apparently selling some high quality stuff.
I REALLY hope there is no S.M.A.R.T. system in this game. I have to admit though, the wall hop in Brink was pretty cool. To this day I still find myself wanting to wall hop stuff in other games.
Strafe jumping > S.M.A.R.T.
And yea, RTCW > ET > ETQW > Brink. There is no question.
And btw, yes, Splash Damage FPS are UNIQUE⦠So no one can compare Team Fortress 2 with a FPS like ET, ET:QW, Brinkā¦
Three derivations, yes, but whoās got this kind of Gameplay and the Stopwatch mode? Nobodyā¦
its the same design from Brink the caracters and the weapons are exactly the same like copy and paste
Well, it does not mean itās bad right? I really liked BRINK weapon design and character design.
Signature updated. I havenāt visited this site in quite a while. For the record, Iāve purchased close to 300 games on Steam, including Brink. And the physics frame rate is dependent on the serverās frame rate, from what I recall (in multi-player, at least), so no, itās not as simple as unlocking it on your end.
I hope the SMART movement will be back. Itās the only example of advanced movement that is both really accessible to new players and fun to use as well as some mastery being required. Well I guess I would prefer to see what they can do with bhop/strafejump but I doubt it will suit the gameās pacing.
The only problem is that F2P is a monetized model - W:ET wasnt, it was simply borne out of ID having a disaster with the SP expansion of RTCW and deciding to release the MP portion as a freebie, so not a game designed to be F2P just accidental. All very altruistic and noble, but Iād doubt Warchest would (or to be more even could) publish on that principle.
On my previous comment I was ranking the games in order of my preference - ETQW, for me, was a failure. However realise a lot of people loved it, especially after the pro mod came out, so not looking to bait anyone.

Splashdamage didnt make RTCW - so nothing they have made as an FPS is unique in this genre (RTCW introduced spawnwaves, had stopwatch as well as objective mode, was class based and team orientated). Wolfenstein 2009 also had all of these features so again not unique- pity for us it was crap.
ROFL
Why i have to hear also here those bull****s XD
You know man, Splash Damaged developed the multiplayer part in Return To Castle Wolfenstein? Adding also new multiplayer maps?!.. Then they developed the Multiplayer Only called Wolf : ET - Get infos before talking, and guess who introduced all the stopwatch, classes, etc etcā¦
Oh, and BTW i havenāt mentioned RTCW in the last posts⦠But only the SD official titles⦠jeez

Actually Nerve Software developed the MP for RTCW. SD started out making maps for RTCW though yes and were asked by iD to make maps specifically for the game of the year edition.
