Yeah me 2 I wait for a sorry before deciding to complain or not.
Teamkilling, discuised people
I surely hope this wil go away in some time, cuz im REALLY AFRAID to discuise myself as an enemy now
I was sharing my view of how I handle the same frustration you big meanie.
I play COps most of the time. I can’t believe some of you actually expect NOT to be TKed while wearing an enemy uniform. That’s one of the major risks of taking it. Expecting your team to mouse over everyone who looks like an enemy, and then wait for the don’t shoot sign is ridiculous. I had a complaint filed against me as an engineer the other day because I killed a COps in disguise with my rifle grenade. Sorry but anyone using explosive weapons are going to be leading and never see the don’t shoot sign anyway.

I make it a habit to always sweep/flick the crosshair across the bad guy to check. It’s become a subliminal habit with me. In a team games like ET you have to be more proactive/cautious and less reactionary. CovOps guys are too valuable to TK, especially on the fuel dump map.

I can only see one viable solution to this problem and that would be to make a disguised Cov Ops invulnerable to friendly fire. The problem is that the code would likely have to be altered to support this and that is very unlikely to happen at this point.
Personally, I don’t like friendly fire disabled, but disabling it ONLY for a DISGUISED Cov Ops would certainly alleviate a lot of problems for everyone concerned.
Then again…its probably a GOOD thing that its damn tough to survive as a Cov Ops because “thats the way it is” and it may also factor in as a balance to the gameplay.
No, the solution is to have people watch their fire. After a newbie kills you, tell him to be more careful and look for the red cross out in the future. We all make occasional mistakes (Especially the 1-3 instinct shots before realizing it’s a covert op), but those that just can’t watch their fire after being politely asked to deserve the complaints.
If u go under cover… Expect frendly fire.
If u get frendly fire, Expect a Sorry!!!
You will get Tked.
And you may do great things for the team…
The class is fine… If you play it right, You don’t have a problem.
If you are in disguise, your team will blow you away, period. By the time the sign pops up you may or may not be dead.
One trick is to keep an eye on your radar, and if you’re approaching a teammate or vice versa hit v6 (“I’m a Covert Ops”). If he isn’t a noob, he’ll see the blue exclamation mark and know not to shoot.
But either way, complaining on someone for shooting a guy in an enemy uniform is quite retarded. The only times I complain:
1: They watch me steal the uniform. And then shoot me. :disgust:
2: They shoot me, and stop when they see the red sign. And then shoot some more! :banghead:
Or how about, you’re on fuel dump, you’re on allies, you open the depot door for your team’s engineer, then he blows you away. That’s happened to me way too many times. I just don’t get how they can be that stupid.
I also hate it when a medic TK revives me when I’m diguised… Fools! It ruinsd the diguise! :banghead:
It’s sad that I feel safer amongst the ENEMY than my own team once disguised… I mean… I have, quite literally, SPAMMED TO DEATH the “I’m a Covert Ops”, and done everything I possibly could to make sure that they know I’m NOT a bad guy, and yet still I get roasted, shot, stabbed, blown up, or otherwise turned into nice, meaty chunks by my own team more than the enemy.
I think the big thing that needs to be added is just a small icon or something above a friendly DISGUISED covert ops… because people rarely if EVER wait for the teammate name/health bar thing to pop up before the “OMGBADGUYDIE” killer instinct fires up. It’s the saddest thing in the world that the minute I grab a uniform, even in full view of my allies, that the enemy has less of a chance of shooting me than my teammates… Quite crazy.
Just to share a story, I was playing a medic (which, btw, is crazy go nuts fun), and consistently had to raise our two covert ops on battery because EVERY time they’d grab a uniform and head out to open the back door, they’d either be shot and killed before they got there, or as they were approaching the door they’d get shot at by people who were waiting for enemies to come out. Really both comical and annoying. Some poor guy went all the way up the assault ramp, knifed a field ops, came all the way to the back door (passing off quite a few axis, mind you), opened it, and was killed in a millisecond by his own teammate rather than the enemy. Nuts.
Hiyas fat boost
Have to disagree with you on the “period”. I don’t always get TKd when I’m a Covert Ops.
/me reckons u need more practise
