Team play

Ok, I am a newbie and only thinking out loud ;D

So the teams will be 12-16 players, how can you command team play in so huge teams.
If the team would could be split up into groups of different size, it would be easier to command assignments and for the groups to communicate.

Also if you have a group of friends of different numbers, you could join a server, create a group and take assignments.

Maybe its already like this, but otherwiseI think it would be a great concept.

in pub play its unlikely that you would realy have command over the team and in interview SD talks how they did away with the idea of a commander player. the game is said to have an automatic personalised obbjective system though so each player is asigned tasks that suit threre roll/class/skill. but allows the team to work towards one common goal as all the little missions contribute

from a clan play point of view 12-16 player might not be nesesary. in a pub situation more players are desirable in current ET otherwise teams can be pretty unbalanced in skill. a clan could play as two 6 man teams with only the two team leader comunicating and orchstrating the battle. the harder part would be managing 12+ players with who can play when, whos on holiday etc

Im not saying someone should command everyone else.

As I understand atm every player get a assigment, place to go and what to do. If two friends create a group, they can be sure to get the same assignment and therefore can work togeheter.

If you get assigned/join a group and a mission you can play just like a clan even in public.
Since alot of people play with a friend or more and use ventrilo or simular, this would be more fun when playing public.

I think you misunderstand the ‘assignment’ option.

It was disabled for E3, so this is conjecture, but it sounds like a new player helper rather than a system to direct squads. The ET gameplay revolves around objectives, and once you know the maps’ objectives, a system like that is worthless because you will know all the ‘assignements’.

For instance, you may have to blow a bridge, hack something, and then blow something up. A few secondary objectives may be present also. I’m guessing the assignments will direct you to secondary objectives.

If your on vent, it would be easy to just say… “I’m going to try and build the secondary rope bridge, cover me”.

I understand its to help people to get an idea what to do.
And to use this to command squads is the idea I have.

What I have read QW is about team play, not just running around and trying to get the most frags.

If the people just running around and ignoring objective and have no idea what the others are doing it get just stupid and boring, and thats how public play work today.

If you can create squads and take assignments and leave assigments, there will be a much better team play overall.

forcing pup player to work as a team is a good idea. forcing pub players to work as squads is doomed for failure. a lot of pub players just dont have the skill or desire to play in a squad and it can be very tricky since all movemnt must be coordinated and when a player dies they respan and are cut off so they squads get seperated

if players want to work as a squad then it will sucede but looking at my younger brothers who play W-ET they defiantly would just be anoying to be in a squad with since they arnt the smartest players

there doent look to be anything that would stop you joining a fire team with a couple of friends and cordianting yourself over teamspeek as a squad

Just what I am saying, public is public. But if you want to work as a squad there should be easy to do so.
If just want to freelance you just turn down the objective.

The main idea is to make it easier for team play if you want to pratice or play in that way.
Also If players can accept/decline objectives the teams would have better understanding what the other players are doing and what they need to be doing to win the map.

My only opinion regarding this just to make it easier for people to play as a team in public, people that just want to run around by them self can do so.
