TAPPERS

(pgh) #21

Yup, And if u time it wrong… :>

One thing ive noticed is when ur dead and, myself i dont use quickchat, when i need to shout medic upon either pressing enter to say chat or esc to cancel it clicks u out. sux

(Cyber-Knight) #22

that’s why I when I revive someone, I ALWAYS jump backwards. (unless there are a bunch of bodies in the vicinity and I needa revive them all)

I mean, there’s no reason for me to just be standing around while I watch the revived teammate come to his senses.

REVIVE! the get the hell out and find cover as you switch back to either your med packs or SMG. worry about the med packs later, cuz you can always revive him again later. But you can’t if you’re dead.

(DerKammisar) #23

is there a command for server admins or refs where you can prevent people from tapping out, but let them tap if its like 5 secs from respawn or team med is dead?

Only if you’re playing Banimod RTCW. s’called Medic Lock. You need to aim your cursor and hit your “special” key. Key where /special1 is bound to.l

(Lt. Jones) #24

Then there’s the many times when you are laying around dying and the medic runs by and completely ignores you…

(Agrado) #25

… which is no bloody use if the grenade goes off while you’re going towards the injured teammate to revive them

I don’t mind people /killing to change class, or tapping out to change class, or even to get back to a spawn point. And I never would think my opinion is better than anyone elses. I am talking about when people continually do it for no apparent reason. And it can’t be the bug all the time.
A lot of times when people tap at this point they say “Sorry” or whatever, and at least you feel like your efforts are appreciated. But when someone continually taps out and I get killed for nothing forgive me for feeling a little annoyed.
It was a throwaway comment anyway, intended to be humourous. Sorry for having a sense of humour.
Yes, I have felt the same frustration many times, and not just at players who tap out a split second before my needle hits them. But you don’t TK someone cos they piss you off, under any circumstances.
That sounds like you think your opinion is better than mine.

(Kendle) #27

Nah, seems like I owe you an apology. I do have a sense of humour, it just doesn’t seem to surface very often on these forums. I’m much more chilled on server for some perverse reason. A case of “if you didn’t laugh you’d cry” at some of the stuff people get up to on servers.

I do come across that way don’t I. I’m just very opinionated in general and always seem to be getting into “heated debates” with people about all sorts of stuff. One of my many flaws.

(ExP|Maximus191) #28

Come on Kendle m8 let’s go back to infamous Hq.
Sorry lads i turned my back for a second and he was gone, won’t happen again :frowning:

I’ll leave this here in his place…

:stuck_out_tongue:

(The_Jesus_Zeppelin) #29

ive decided to just give myself a new rule,

tap once: shame on you
tap twice: shame on you
tap thrice: shame on you
tap four times: shame on you
tap five times:shame on you
tap six times: shame on you
tap seven times :shame on you
tap eight time: im gonna kill you myself you suck at the game!

(Mikey21) #30

Thats a good rule to go by, I might use it myself

(puubert) #31

I never tap out if there is a Med nearby. You help your Med get to Level 2 and 3 more quickly. As we all know once a Med hits Level 2 he can keep Health packs all over the place and Level 3 is Full-revive. Help your teammates and they’ll help you. Same for FO, I’ll always run over as any ammo packs I see, even if it means firing a few bullet into the sky to make room. Help your team level up and you’ll have a stronger team.

Cheers Kendle. I am new to the forum, although I have been a long-time lurker :eek2: One thing I didn’t want to do was get into an argument with Kendle!

Anyway you are indeed right that if you didn’t laugh you’d cry at what some people get up to on servers. I really do need to be more cool-headed when playing this game, but I tend to lose my cool very easily when playing. I really envy those that can keep it. I played with you one night on a Goldrsuh map and you were a good team player. Hope to play with you a gain some time. :drink:

(NaILBuNY) #33

i hate when someone dies and there surruned by enemys and by some act of god i ebd up killing them all only to see that the dead guy i did all that for has tapped it makes me so made i could just crush my mouse with a hamer   :banghead: :banghead:

When playing clan games say, on SW any map, a good thing to do to help your team (Clan players mind, and its a team game :)) is to say, if a Fops drops ammo and you dont need any, fire a few pistol shots or drop a gren somewhere out of the way and pick it up… Allows your team m8’s to gain that little bit more XP than normally + every little helps. Never seen any demos or watched anyone else do this bar myself, and playing the likes of a Fops I know how much it can help. Dito with say a CovOps. 2 nmes near by? Take a uni, shoot a few things and get the other NME’s.

Obv, this also goes for tappers but at times its hard to take a risk. Numerous times i’ve left the limbo counter to reset thinking a Medic might just reach me in time or after spawn only to be limbo’d by the nme.

And of course tho, kudos to those who can do this but death to the ones that tap out straight of and are silly enough to wait 20/30 seconds for a spawn.

There’s nothing worse than missing a re-spawn only to watch a medic standing over you get mowed down as he misses with his needle or shuffles through his weapons (I actually had one run up and drop a grenade on me once, we both had a really good laugh).
