Switching classes / teams

Ello,
I don’t know if this subject has been brought up before : It’s about the selecting of the classes/teams, currently in RTCW.
I always found it quite annoying, that, when you decide last minute (in limbo) to change your class : it’s not possible to do it ‘really quick’.
Offcourse, there might be some script being able to do just that, but imo, to make it more ‘newbie-friendly’ , and just easier over-all : I wonder if something like that could be in ET maybe ?

Yep - you can do this in ET. In fact one of our Level Designers (Mark ‘nakedape’ Fry) uses scripts for fast team/class/weapon set-ups.

The syntax is /team B 0 8

Which in this instance sets Mark as Allied (B), Soldier (0) with a Thompson (8).

Heya!
Look for my “nkd” config set in the pk3 when ET is released. There are 3 files that I use for my configs and two of them are for switching classes (one for “b” team - Allies, and one for “r” team - Axis).

You’ll be happy to know that the new ET limbo menu makes weapon/class selection very easy … I guess that I still use my configs out of habit :stuck_out_tongue:
