I know it’s based on history and i’m glad the folks at spash-damage used a wolf logo instead of a nazi flag. The whole point of the game was not to start racestness(no clue how to spell that) but to create a game involving teamwork. And Crash… :bash: reread what u write before u post. And for the whole germans are idiots part THAT IS NOT TRUE. I’ve played on alot of et servers and once played on a whole server where everyone spoke german. They played and wrote just as cool as anyone else :drink:
So the whole point i’m trying to make is that whats in the past is done(example: you wont see me going to the south and saying dont jion the confederacy otherwise us yankees will have ta force ya to stay) so everyone please get along no matter where your from and go play some enemy-territory!!!

the swastika is banned in germany, not for the jews but for human rights - and peace.
What happened in Nazi Germany is a thing to be forgotten and never repeated with anyone.
If the Swastika was still legal Germany - you would probably end up with different groups (or more groups if there are already) of Nazi followers re-igniting what Hitler did.

The Nazi party was the official government of Germany at the time, so we were fighting Germans. We being all the good people in the world, the resistance in Germany, United States, Great Britain, Russia, Greece, and all the resistance forces throughout Europe.
Censoring the swastika is definately the same thing as the Nazis burning books to rid themselves of history that they did not agree with.
I’m American, and we don’t outlaw information about bad things in our past, like slavery or the civil war. Remembering our history lets us not repeat the same horrible things in the future.
The same should be said for the now peaceful Germany, but they don’t allow important history to be shown. This isn’t a skateboard video game, this is a video game about World War 2 in Europe. People need to see Nazi history, they need to be offended by it. If they aren’t offended by it, then how will anyone ever learn from the past? On August 6, 1945 - At 8:15AM, we (Americans) killed more than 230,000 people and millions of animals in a single second when we dropped the bomb on Hiroshima Japan, and at 11:02 a.m. on Ausust 9, 1945 we killed 70,000 people in Nagasaki Japan. I’m deeply troubled by this dark part of my history, and do you know why I’m able to experience the shame? Because my people don’t censor history to make ourselves look better.

On an off note, these forums have become a joke. There is little/no moderation these days. I realize that SD may be busy with other projects, but threads like this can give the forum (and the company whom they represent) a bad image.
If you don’t have time to mod the forums, find somebody who can. This is quickly getting out of control. This thread should have been closed a long time ago.
Yes, I love revisionist historians that try to downplay the American role in ending World War II. Its just a typing commentary on the rampant anti-americanism going on all around the world.
These forums are modded by SD employees who don’t work on the weekends (if they can help it). I think they do a fine job, and a little thread like this, getting a little out of hand won’t kill any of us. I’m sure this will be locked first thing Monday morning.
Actually, a nuisance poster was banned (SpecOps), and his topic deleted earlier today. They go after the real nuisances. I agree that this topic is in the wrong place. It probably doesn’t even fit in the general topic area.
Yes, I’ve only recently become a member. But I’ve been viewing these forums for ET/RTCW information for quite a while longer than that. It’s a moot point, I know there’s others that have seen a general trend in the forums recently.
Please note that I’m not trying to rag on SD or anything… I work all week long, and the LAST thing I want to do on my weekend is have to deal with immaturity. If the mods don’t have a problem with it, more power to them. I was merely making a suggestion. I would hate to see SD’s name get tarnished because the forums go all to hell.
Again, I’m not trying to bitch at anybody, so don’t bitch at me. Just trying to offer a suggestion.
