People with blindness in one eye don’t see black, they just see from the one eye, so it would be as if both of your eyes were on the right side of your head. As for Stoker, he’s wearing the gas mask directly on his face, meaning his eyes are directly in front of the glass and he wouldn’t see the edges of the mask at all.

Also camouflage on the special abilities, like Phantom’s Katana or Nader’s launcher would be a nice touch. It wouldn’t even take that much time, just a quick reskin really.

But the edge of their nose is still blocking like 1/5 of their FOV.

Backing what Szak said. If it wasn’t for forcing gun models I’d have them off, and I don’t need my legs blocking the guy I’m shooting directly below me.

For them to do what you want, they’d have to go back rewrite engine code, cause UDK does not render player models that way. The only game engines I know that do this are the Bungie Engine (Destiny and Halo), Real Virtuality 4, CryEngine, and that’s about it.

Its really not that hard or time consuming at all (but I do understand why Splash might not want to add it), I have done it myself for a few UE3 based games.
Add a new skeletal mesh comp, use the same mesh as the third person model and clip off the mesh from the waist up (can set the bone scale to 0 to avoid having a separate mesh assest), hook it up to use the same animation instance as the third person mesh so that all animations line up. And that pretty much it. The guts of a few hours work (tweaking is the longest part, as with most things), if anything UE3 makes it quiet easy.

I think its a nice little feature, and can always be an option to turn on/off for those that don’t like it. If w ever get mutators I’d love to make this :>
