and. i know many here know that indy is just an unskilled fake mapper, but i just want to give you an impression on how sneaky he tries to sell this work as his own. most of this have already been discussed:

  1. look at commandmap
  2. look at loading screen

“map made by indyjones” and there are also other names on it. dude this is not yours i would recommend you to release a new version with your name reduced to the readme, as a sidenote.

I have to say aaa4 is totally right. You did deceive a lot! Most of the people still thinks it’s your ogirinal work. And a lot of people thought that for a long time in here (until the rant/eula/etc. discussion). You have mentioned your name at every possible spot with huge red letters and the original authors are a small hidden sidenote. You really have to search to find it in there. All your posts and everything makes it sound like it’s your work. It all should be 100% opposite, then nothing like this would have raised to discussion.

Again I’ll say this… For months me and my friends thought it was your own work. One day someone accidentally recognised the map or found it from another game.

He is as sneaky as ads in bus stops. They claim extreme offers only to later notice in a very small font things are not always as they seem.
In this case it was “MAP BY INDYJONES” (Like Sage mentioned) and in a small font others were credited. Same way would be if i made this on Capuzzo.

I thing that there is not nothing bad if you create some remake of map from other game. (I know a lot of movie remakes).

The only problem you have with is that Indy didnt wrote on the first line that it is remake of COD map. Am I right?

I have a little diferent view on this thing, I work as an CAD designer in automotive and I am equating to my business. What is the difference between Mercedes and Brabus? Is ti two different brands and one car… ???

All I want to say is : Dont move this discussion to extream, please. What you thing you solve with this discussion?

the map simply rocks.
the map is remake of counter-strike source map, but from sof2 version.
the map has been remade by me, pazur and isbowhten.

Whats the point anyway of stealing maps from other game …:confused: Its like you make your own map and you work like really hard on it and so on. Then some other guy decompiles your hard work on other game and havent even asked for permission and then tells to other people that “i made it, i worked really hard on it…” blabla and then what would you feel if you see this ? Like stealing your map and tells he made it ?..

Its just my opinion :o

I agree and also I think that this is not exactly this case.

What is the point of remaking of maps from other games? I think that it is because these maps are good. I dont write about permissions, this is clear thing.

Anyway convertiing is maybe more difficult then creating a new one…

I would like to see original work my self. I mean who knows maybe you could have a creative side and might make better maps that people would like to use as the standards on their servers. But, I also think it is cool that you did convert it to W:ET, but little credit was written. Common you got to be fair you wouldn’t want some kid taking your homework that had 100 answers and erase your name and put his would you? :wink:

Who the fcuk cares if he decompiles or whatever? Are you the “official stamp on the custom map” guys? Stop trying to claim for justice when 99% of us geek are using P2P and other stuffs like that, I truelly thought I was in some kind of crusade against the map in this thread… If its his way to make his map who the hell cares? and who the hell are you to tell him he’s wrong and you are right? Idd showing some kudos from the previous artist is allways a plus, but its not an obligation at all, just some “gentlemen agreement” on the subject, if the map is good and fun, it should be enough.

If he’s stealing other games textures and stuff, you are not lawyers neither Internet policemen I guess, so let them do their job, being an internet “sherif” when its not at all your role is pretty dumb IMO.

Anyway, nice redcards both of you :stuck_out_tongue: (for once its not me \o/)

Indy did barely mention the original authors, and fooled everyone to think it is his own creation by mentioning his name everywhere and speaking with the tone. Lying, deceiving and faking are not good. New (ported or not) maps can be.

That is what it is all about. We don’t like people to take credit that belongs to other people. A small sidenote, “Map is ported from x by Indyjones”, would be good.

Oh btw, Indy. Don’t think I did not caught you from taking all the assets from my Duel site to use them in your duel map. No I don’t care about it at all but you could have asked me, I would have said yes. Thanks for crediting me btw… :rolleyes:

But he did mention the original authors, he credited them properly as can be seen from the readme. So what’s the problem??? It is hte people who infer that he made the map that are at fault, not Indy. If I take a gun from CSS and put it in hte credits that its from CSS and people think its mine without reading the credits then it is not, let me say that again, NOT my fault that they forgot or did not care to find out themselves. As I have credited where credit is due. Get off his back already.
