strangely odd ET slow motion bug?

I don’t know how to describe this, but since reinstalled XP Pro new HDD etc due to HDD crash, just an hour ago reinstalled ET and the patch updated PB here is the fun part… soon as i try to heal anyone with the needle or use pliers as engineer ET almost goes into slow motion then screen goes black for half a sec.

Now if anybody asks i have all upto date drivers installed i don’t think its related, only difference is i installed NVIDIA nForce 3.13 drivers but game performance is fine its as soon i well description above… try to use any of the tools the game goes into slow motion then black screen and back to the game every time and running smoothly.

This never happened in the past, real pain in the ass when trying to fix people or build things

Never had problem before with this on ATI Catalysts 3.9 tried 3.10 and same thing :o

Anyone have the faintest idea whats going on here? as i said game performance is fine, its just untill i use the med needle pliers and such this bug happens.

What key do you have bound to switch to the needles/pliers?

space, though tested ET PRO and do not get this weird behaviour.

It dont happen when you hit the key, only when you try to revive actual player, or build the ramps etc.

Unlucky Ian.

Tried the obvious things…

Latest DirectX.
Check Driver/HW webbys for known errors in Drivers.
Revert to older ‘known that works’ Drivers.
Try messing with ET gfx settings and see if it still occours.

Turns out it wasn’t driver related, after copying ET Profile from CD during backup it somehow corrupted “Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\profiles\vf” once made a new profile all is fine.

Must remember that, wise just to make a new profile after install.

Probably has to do with the fact that every file you burn to a CD is marked as read only. And when you copied it back, it was still read only and maybe it was trying to change something about it? Not sure…

Yeah i checked that, but it wasn’t read only.

As most of the time with ETPRO then switch back to regular ET the cfg is reset to defaults, so normally set default ET cfg to read only so this dont happen but has worked before. Honestly haven’t got the faintest idea how this strange thing had happened, perhaps it was just one of those spooky things :o ALIENS!
