Strange Occurences...

Just finished playing a campaign, last map Oasis. Playing against one of those clan-stacked Axis teams that never shuffles, so my Allied comrades are weathering the storm. We manage to blow the Old City Wall, but we don’t automatically capture the Old City Spawn. Axis take it back, and even though the wall is gone, we’re stuck spawning at the Oasis.

Am I correct in suspecting this change could only be made serverside? And if so, how? Would you need to be an admin or higher to make such changes? I’m a regular on this server and I’m interested taking some kind of action to make sure this doesn’t happen again. If this is the owners of the server doing this, then I’m not a regular anymore, but if it’s just a few people abusing their priveleges, then I figure there’s a course of action.

I guess this is more of a rant than anything. sigh Some people…

Either you faced the bug, where sometimes the flag doesn’t disappear or someone altered the mapscript (and this would be serverside only).
When someone altered the mapscript you should find a pk3 with it on your hd.

I never downloaded a new pk3 when I joined, so it’s must be this bug. Is the bug still around in ETPro 3.0.1? That’s what the server was running.

It’s a bug with the map’s script; same effect happens on radar. Usually it has something to do with the dynamite being blown on a spawn-change objective then something unusal happens, like Axis managing to capture the flag at the exact atomic clock of the spawn change or the code lags for some reason and thus just doesn’t register the event.

The ETPro dev team has corrected many of the stock map’s script bugs/exploits and it’s likely something like that shouldn’t occur anymore assuming it’s a bug caused by the map’s script and not the game-engine code.

ive had this happen on oasis once and also on radar once. on radar it was on an etpro server. its a very rare occurance enjoy it when it happens as it makes the map play very differently.

Its a bug. Somthing like. If the axis have the old city when it blows. or if they cap it the same time it blows. I dunno. But its a bug

ya only ever happened once for me but I was on a good server and just called a restart and told them why and everyone F1’ed

Double gun blowing bug can still occour, Shoving you back randomly to back Axis spawn (also this doesnt reset if set seperately on a first round of SW) on Radar, Random spawn changes on Battery (Again shoves you back to back Spawn as Axis on a new SW round…).

Few of me head…

Ingame POV… shooting Flamethrower then entering a tank would fire both for around 2/3 seconds from MG, MG42 for Solly randomly locking fire when placed but player has moved to a location he shouldnt be able to, ie, clipped through a wall slightly… Goldrush tankbug, randomly locks up at 2nd Tank Barrier and cant be repaired (it does repair but doesnt move tho :x)…

Spawning with 2 or 3 players to the back spawn at the start of Supplydepot. Dynamite planted announcements when the plants are not correct. Main door on radar not blowing (dont recall when this occurs). Trackswitch mines reacting strange sometimes. Reloading animation gone but reloading is done. Ehmm some more :slight_smile:

had a version of the reloading one on rader. Gun empty’s , hear the click, reloade animation kicks in. But but counter does not change and when i fire you hear the clicks and animation starts again. Have to press relaod key (“r” funnily enough) to get counter to reset. Hear reload sound but no animation

Map bug. Was fixed twice and released twice afaik and it still has the bug.

Anyone had the Rifle Gren bug? Only get it in ETPro 3 where basically, the weapalt just doesnt work. Itll load a gren (At least itll play the animation) then display the ammo count as 0/4 or whatever grens is left. It wont let you fire and pressing weapalt doesnt revert back to Rifle - Gren. Only way is to change to another weap (has a slight delay greater than normal tho) and THEN press weapalt and wait for load again. Got a few demos of it happening just randomly through out clan games… only seems to be on Oasis, GR and Radar… oh wait, thats the only map(s) clans play…

Tank crosses the Fueldump bridge, AXIS spammers destroy it but the poor Allies can’t repair it, as if they didn’t have enough to deal with on Fueldump! :stuck_out_tongue:

Has happened twice that i remember.
